I hope they don't go infect some Protestant community. I wouldn't wish these loons on my worst enemy.
May God, in His Infinite Mercy, grant them the graces of repentance and conversion.
Objection, your honour! Their activities are neither holy, nor eucharistic.
How cute! Children playing church. Actually children should not be allowed to play in the sanctuary, it’s not a playground.
I’ve only been subjected to the layperson Homily once, this past Thanksgiving....though the first reading was supressed in favor of a Pagan Indian Prayer.
Very horrible, it was in Pawtucket RI.
Now that the TLM is back at Holy Trinity (at 9am!!!!), Boston, I’m ending up there more often than not.
I’m wondering if the Traddies may finally have one me over.
I would be very interested in hearing more detail on this -- a theme that recurs in stories about this "parish" but with no detail. Color me skeptical -- my own observation has been that the left is more into self-congratulation and government agencies and feel-good cr@p that benefits no one than they go for actual charity. Maybe these people are the exception, but I'd really like to know more.
Most look like aging hippies.
As much as I’m a traditional Catholic who relishes the idea of the return of the Tridentine Mass, these people are really just enjoying themselves on a Sunday morning. Sure, they’re dissident Catholics, but they are really harmless and will fade away, as the elderly of the parish pass on there will not be a younger generation to take their place.
Yours Truly,
The Woim
Profaning and desecrating the Holy Eucharistic and the Mass is not harmless.
It is absolutely evil in the original, Luciferian sense of the word.
You can't read anything by Nick Coleman unless you have a strong stomach.
But similar changes are taking place across the archdiocese, which is getting new, conservative leadership from Co-adjutor Archbishop John Nienstedt, who will shortly succeed Archbishop Harry Flynn.
The more snippets I get of our new Archbishop, the more I like him. Flynn has had his neck stepped on by his managers more than once, and I think it was time long ago for him to retire.
Those good works will continue. But many of the good people who contributed their time, talents and resources to the $3 million-a-year social outreach of a historic, 119-year-old inner-city parish will not.
In the lump, I think the Catholic Church in the Greater Minneapolis/St. Paul does decent work and has even under the watchful eye of Harry Flynn, who probably qualifies as a clown of the first order. I even think he has done better than average in the area of Catholic Church pedophiles. Still, if left to his own designs, you couldn't tell the difference between the Catholic Church and the Teletubbies.
I wish one of these characters who see themselves as "missionaries" would tell me why he or she can't do the same thing within the Catholic Church framework. The long and short of it is there are, I think, many ways to salvation, as in, "I am the way, the truth and the life..." The thing of it is is why can't "Catholic" missionaries do their work while following the rules of the Catholic Church? Another thing of it is is we can still do good works while being other than Catholic, just don't go around pretending to be Catholic.
In the Lutheran church, anyone who thought the purpose of a Lenten service was to “enjoy’ himself would be pummeled with three day old sweet roles to within an inch of his life.
Indeed. I see a lot of white, middle-class people in that moblet - I don’t see any of the poor and homeless in their “gathering place.”
Nothing a bunch of good honest prayer wouldn’t fix. Let’s hope this parish lands a Pastor who beleives in prayer and can teach it.
The good news is they won't be around much longer to inflict themselves on this fallen world.
Interesting ! Worse than my late wife’s (Epicopal) church on a really “progressive” day !
Got that right. Whadd'ya think those Hot Cross Buns are for?!
what, no rainbow on the marquis?
I’ve often wondered to myself if I would object aloud in such a case. I hope I never find out.
