Can FreeRepublic Be Trusted [Nope. Zapp Zapped, er Zotted!]

Long story, but given the apparent end of democracy in America, and the open hostility to persons of the Christian Faith, and given History over the past 200 years or so, How can one be sure, or even 50% sure that an org such as Free Republic is legitimate? It would seem plausible that this group is merely another plant. Someone help me out here.
