Dear friends of Anglican Mainstream,

Warm greetings for God's rich blessing on your ministry in 2004.

First we want to thank you again for the support you have given to the Petition which was gathered before Christmas. As you will see from the website, the response was overwhelming and the petition was warmly received at Lambeth Palace.

The next phase is to give input into the work of the Archbishop's Commission chaired by Archbishop Eames. This will hold its first of three meetings in the week of February 9 2004 at Windsor. The Commission are inviting input from throughout the Anglican Communion - with a recommended one side of A4 for each submission.

The Anglican Mainstream network is facilitating such input by opening a special section of its website to encourage input, and to publish appropriate submissions. Please do consult this section, and if possible with your house-group, other church members, your family, make your contribution to this most important process. Your contributions will be vital and most welcome - and you can make them longer than a page to us.

The Commission has identified 8 questions which are on the website. The fundamental question is what is the Anglican Communion for? What do we want our family of churches to be, to look like, and to do? All this will be vitally affected by the findings and report of the Commission, so we want to ensure that the views and contrbutions of mainstream Anglicanism throughout the world are heard by the Commission.

We are also providing a link through the website to the website of the Eames Commission where it is proposed that presentations made to it and its work in progress will be made available.

Above all please continue in prayer for God's guidance for all of us in the Communion and that his will will be done.

With warm greetings in Christ

+Bob Duncan (Bishop of Pittsburgh and Moderator of Network of Anglican Communion Dioceses and Parishes in ECUSA)

Canon David Anderson (President of American Anglican Council)

Dr Philip Giddings (Member of Archbishops' Council and Convenor of Anglican Mainstream UK)

Canon Dr Chris Sugden (Anglican Mainstream)

Canon Dr Vinay Samuel (Anglican Mainstream)
