"We don't use crosses. True.
The reasoning is this, if your friend is killed by a gun, do you take to wearing a gun around your neck?"
Is a church w/o a cross a church, or just another building?
Jesus was crucified on a cross and is our Saviour, not just a mere friend. Through His death on the cross we are saved. Knowing who Jesus is, is therefore very important. Many years ago I read Dr. Walter Martin's "Kingdom of the Cults". The chapter on Mormonism is very detailed with sources from the Mormon religion.
Thanks for the link.

Why isn't "Jedi" listed? My son, 'Skywalk,' would also wonder why his religion isn't listed.
To: AZ Righty
The "Christian" category should be ammended to say "Protestant".
As it stands some of us (anyone who is Catholic or Mormon) would have to give two answers.

I do know that Mormans are not allowed to wear crosses at all. That is all I know. My friend tried to explain why to me once, but I can't recall now what she said. She is a Mormon convert.

Apparently, "Siek" is an alternative spelling for "Sikh."

I am and have been a devote agnostic for many many years ... I don't bash you for your believes which BTW ... I consider Mythology ... what I believe is NONE of your business and not subject to your critiques
Do you know what the word aganostic means...ignoramous, but if you consider my beliefs Mythology then you can't be aganostical about it?
Why wouldn't you bash my beliefs if you think they are wrong. You have freedom of speech don't you? You have convictions about the truth don't you?You must have some facts that lead you to the ignorant conclusion that God's word is Mythology...
No ones bashing beliefs I'm bashing a known, documented liar...As far a critiquing your beliefs, I think I just did, and if it offends you, I apologize...

Then no doubt you can explain why no Mormon temple has Cross on it's edifice?I can answer that question based on my own interpretation. I cannot speak officially for the church though.
We don't have crosses on Temples or the local chapels where people meet weekly. That symbol is no where to be found in things Mormon.
Why? Because we believe in a living, ressurected (literally ressurected) Christ who is currently who He is. He is there for us NOW.
We do not focus soley on His death, but rather focus on His life, death, ressurection, and what He has done for us and teaches us. He still teaches us.
We have to maintain balance among ALL of these things and not unduly focus on one or the other.
Just wearing a cross around ones neck doesn't make one Christian. Our faith goes beyond the symbol of just that one aspect of who Christ was and IS.

You are a liar who himself is a cultist. You might as well go join up with David Koresh types because thats what kind of person YOU are and what YOU believe in. Just admit it to all of us.
To: Allegra
Interesting that "Christian" and "Catholic" are separate choices. I am emphatically BOTH. They are in no way mutually exclusive. Oh yes they are. Start with Mary. Catholics pray to Mary. Catholics pray to Saints. Catholics pray to dead people.
These are all false gods. The only way to The Father is through The Son.
the list is long. It's best to just refer to yourself as Catholic, as it is quite different than Christian.

Orthodox christian did not even make the list.
I agree with you. I think this seperation to different "groups" withing the Christian faith is an effort to reduce the overall number of christians.
Imaging the poll if they just asked: Christian, Moslem, Jewish, Atheist, other.
To: Az Joe
Yeah, Catholic IS christian and it can be argued that they were the first Christians as the liniage of the Pope is traced back to St. Peter. What does this mean? All that matters is following The Word of Jesus. Catholics do not, starting with prayers to many false gods (Mary, Saints, etc).
Everyone is related to Adam or Eve or Noah or something...and tell me about the importance of The Pope? Why do you need one? Jesus said the only way to The Father is through Him...not through a hierarchy of Bishops, Cardinals, Popes, etc.
Catholic is not Christian.
