Yeah, Catholic IS christian and it can be argued that they were the first Christians as the liniage of the Pope is traced back to St. Peter.

What does this mean? All that matters is following The Word of Jesus. Catholics do not, starting with prayers to many false gods (Mary, Saints, etc).

Everyone is related to Adam or Eve or Noah or something...and tell me about the importance of The Pope? Why do you need one? Jesus said the only way to The Father is through Him...not through a hierarchy of Bishops, Cardinals, Popes, etc.

Catholic is not Christian.

Catholic is not Christian.

What a stupid, silly and insulting thing to say, and on Christmas of all days. Catholics believe that Christ was God's son inarnate and that He died for all of mankind's sins. That makes it Christan. Period.

If your perticular sect celebrates the Word by rubbing blue mud in your tummy or having rock bands at church or whatever, that is merely a difference in interpretation of the Bible. It doesn't remove Christianity from the church.

Being so incredibly uncharitable and un-Christlike, OTOH -- that is (and by extension you are) certainly NOT Christian.

ps: I am not Catholic.

Catholic is christian. Catholic is just a word for universal. Even the Orthodox churches state in their creed "one holy catholic and apostolic church".

You may have personal disagreements with the vatican, but that does not make them less Christian.

Budhism should not be in the poll since they are a self described philosophy more than religion. The poll is flawed.

Total up all the christian faiths and that is an interesting number.

So then you do not follow the words of the four gospels, I would assume, because they were not written by Jesus.

In Roman Catholicism, Mary is not a diety. Nor are any of the saints. We ask these people, who are with God in Heaven, to pray for us. God - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit - is all powerful. It is through Him that these people even have special designation. It is through God that all things are done. The Word is a part of living, yes, and a guide. And yes we do use it - the whole thing, including the books that were removed by Martin Luther.

Catholics are Christians. We are no different than any other people in that some profess to be and don't follow the teachings of Christ in their everyday lives. But to say that we are not bible beliving Christians just isn't true.

Matt 16:18. However, not to worry. That was just Jesus' personal opinion which yours is equal to. Merry Christmas :)
