Not really. Nor do we think Republicans Tom McClintock and Peter Ueberroth should get out of the race. At least not yet.
Well, maybe Mr. Ueberroth should. His blandness and lack of energy will not do.
The Democrats already have their Gray candidate. What's more, Mr. Ueberroth doesn't seem to be much more specific than Arnold Schwarzenegger, the frontrunner among Republicans currently in the race. But, then again, Mr. Ueberroth's nonpartisan pitch overrides his token Republicanism. For example, he's the only Republican in the race to oppose Proposition 187, the 1994 initiative barring state benefits to illegal aliens. Does this country-club Republican think he'll get Latino voters away from Democratic Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante? Indeed, in this crazy election, Mr. Ueberroth could end up with more Democrats and independent voters than Republicans.

Knock off this idiocy! To point out Arnold's non-conservative credentials is our utmost duty as conservatives. Pro-abortion, pro-gay adoption, unwilling to enforce our border laws, wishy-washy on Prop 187, won't commit to severing the energy contracts... Quit slandering the conservatives on this board who REFUSE to give up principles to elect a Democrat-lite candidate!
Yes, I do. And I have to admit that you Bustamante's Angels seem to have a tough row to hoe. But hey, Aztlan Uber Alles for you guys, right?
and what the ultimate aim of Ahnold and his RINO supporters is?
Yup. Its called "Winning the Election", something that Mister Four Percent cannot do.
This place is starting to sound like a C-Span call-in.
He is an opportunist.
He entered the race late.
He gets flustered easily on simple questions that he should have been prepared for.
He does not want to debate.
He does not want to sign a no-tax pledge.
He has out-of-state liberal advisors.
He is not a California native.
There is a better qualified alternative (McClintock).
RINOs tend to do the opposite of what they pledge to do in their election campaign.
If the Demos have a dirt bomb on him, they can drop it any time to defuse him, or use it as blackmail.
Here's a bonus reason:
I really don't need anyone to tell me how to vote anyway. I'll vote for the best candidate and if other's don't, that's their problem, not mine.
Why keep referring to Uberroth? McClintock has at least 12 percent in the current polls.
Now, if the editorial had said he MIGHT have won with an extra $100,000, then I'd have no problem. But time, after time, after time, election results across the country demonstrate that money, alone, is not the answer to a winning campaign. Here in California, there have been plenty of very well-funded GOP candidates who have gone down in flames in one election or another over the last 10-12 years or so.
He's also a dual citizen of Austria. Shouldn't we be calling on him to renounce his Austrian citizenship before governing a U.S. state?
I and other Schwarzenegger "DEFENDERS" have promised to vote for McClintock if he can raise his numbers. What more can I say to you other than that you've got my vote if our number one guy is viable? But this just isn't good enough for you. You slander, insult and demand that I confirm my vote for McClintock even if you and I are the only two people who do so. How many times can I say, NO SALE.
I voted for McClintock in the Freeper pole both times. If asked by a poll, I would state that I am voting for McClintock. I plan on pushing a McClintock victory as much as I can. There is only so much we can do. Is this beyond your ability to reason?
There are more dynamics at play here than just republican vs democrat this time. With what we both acknowledge is a RINO in the mix, everything is wide open.
On this forum I've tried to explain that. I've made a rational reasonable attempt to explain it to you and others, but you don't want to confront it. Okay, don't.
There are things at play here that neither you and I wish for, want to support or feel comfortable supporting. The fact still remains, on October 7th, if I have no other viable choice, I will vote for Arnold Schwarzenegger.
There is not one chance in this universe that I'll throw my vote away, or not make one, if it would facilitate the election of Cruz Bustamante.
This isn't a personal grudge between you and I. I'm not doing this out of spite. I would love to see Tom elected. What part of this are you incapable of understanding?
Why is is disingenuous? In almost all of the polls listed below the total % for McClintock added to the column of the person in 2nd place, produces a win.

Alright, you figured that out very quickly.
I am personally divided on this. I imagine that being a dual citizen and a government employee can cause a conflict of interest. Like when the election winner is sworn to uphold and defend the Constitution during the office-taking ceremony. At a minimum I think Arnold needs to make clear which allegience takes precedence under such circumstances, and be held to it by other government officials and the public. There's probably a lawyer out there somewhere who could give a more informed and authoritative response...
McC is a painter? Well, at least he can go back to his day job.
Really? Cite your source.
He's a lying RINO piece of garbage.
