"Consider that Maria Shriver is running his campaign from top to bottom. "

Why should we consider it ? Just because McClintock says it ?

"What utter rot. The best you can offer up is an anemic straw man argument. Let me know when you're capable of having a serious discussion based on rational argument."

Nope.. simply a logical extension of your "reasoning" behind the false notion that they are mutually exclusive.

If "fiscal conservatism" is the be-all and end-all of your political ideas, then EVERYTHING that results in lower overall costs should be considered and implimented by force.
Otherwise, it's just a matter of HOW "socially liberal" you are.

I for one, don't think the government should be spending one dime on social programs - I suppose that makes me more of a fiscal conservative then Tom Almighty, and conversely makes HIM a Social Liberal.

"PRAGMATIC" REPUBLICANS TRYING TO GET RECALL ON THE BALLOT:

"It DOESN'T matter who replaces Gray because ANYONE is better Davis. ANYONE. This is all about getting rid of him. PERIOD. Even the Green Party guy would make a better governor, or Larry Flint for that matter!! We'll be happy JUST as long as the majority of vote to remove Davis!! Trust us, this is a win-win sitution no matter WHO runs!!"

"PRAGMATIC" REPUBLICANS AFTER THEY GET RECALL ON THE BALLOT:

"A vote for anyone BUT Arnold is a vote for Bustamente. If you pick someone besides OUR guy, you are a DU disruptor working to elect a candidate WORSE than Davis. We CANNOT allow Bustatemente to win, because he's for ARZLAN!!! You HAVE to vote for ONE guy and that's Arnold. IGNORE the other 193 candidates, it's either Arnold or Bustamente!!! Gee, so consistant, aren't they? The WHOLE reason they sold recall as a brillant plan was: A) ANYONE is better than Davis
B) Californias are sick of Davis' failed policies, and will therefore NOT replace him with someone who belives in the same issues.

Now that they got their recall, they have completely moved 180o degrees from their original selling points. We're supposed to forget the whole reason they INSISTED on recall in the FIRST place. Tell me again, why is it "pragmatic" to spending $70 million to "replace" Davis with a guy who will continue the SAME pro-abortion, gun-grabbing, gay-marriage, high-taxes agenda?

"Consider that Maria Shriver is running his campaign from top to bottom. "

Why do McClintock supporters insist on making things up ?

... if this statement has grown from the fact ( assumming you believe everything the LA Times reports ) that Shriver "has assumed a central strategy role." isn't it just a bit of a stretch to get to "running his campaign from top to bottom" ?

Arnold is not a fool, to NOT use the media contacts and wife's knowledge of the system to further his campaign would be absurd.

Ignoring for the moment the 180 degrees absurdity,

When you have one success in getting the recall in play, you go on to a new plan.

I suppose Toms supporters are unfamiliar with this concept due to the lack of success or acomplishment in Tom's 20 years of trying.
