I agree with you, BTW, that it is disingenous for the anti-McClintock crowd to simultaneously claim that Mr. McClintock's support is microscopic, but needed to elect Mr. Schwarzenegger over Mr. Large Breasts.

Why is is disingenuous? In almost all of the polls listed below the total % for McClintock added to the column of the person in 2nd place, produces a win.

In almost all of the polls listed below the total % for McClintock added to the column of the person in 2nd place, produces a win.

In all but one of the polls you listed where McClintock plus 2nd place would win, Ueberroth plus 2nd place would also win. It appears that Ueberroth is nearly as significant a spoiler as McClintock, if the given polls were actual election results.

(The one exception is the PPIC poll, where McClintock and Ueberroth are only 1% apart anyway.)
