After listening to two hours of testimony from bishops, deputies and visitors Friday morning, the legislative committee on the Consecration of Bishops endorsed the ratification of the Rev. V. Gene Robinson, as bishop-coadjutor of New Hampshire. The measure now heads to the House of Deputies for a vote.
Robinson is the first openly gay priest to be elected bishop in the Episcopal Church.
The committee has made its decision, committee co-chair, the Rev. Karolyn Keil-Kuhr of the Diocese of Montana, told the ballroom packed with at least 500 attendees; some 200 more were in the lobby, and 100 more were in an overflow room.
Keil-Kuhr asked that the decision be received with grace by those in attendance. We would appreciate no applause, no cheering. I remind you this is not the final action, she said, announcing that the committee has voted to adopt resolution C045.
Bishops with jurisdiction in geographic areas of the church will also vote on the measure.
More on this story will be posted soon.
You're certainly welcome . . .
Living in the South will turn ANYONE into an evangelist . . . I'm living proof!
For example, NEW YORK ANGLICANS INAUGURATE SECOND AMIA PARISH IN NEW YORK CITY
By Ken Okorie
On the heels of his initial and successful outing of June 29 to Atlanta, The Most Rev. Benjamin Nwankiti, retired Archbishop of Province Two and former Dean of the Church of Nigeria, inaugurated a second Anglican outpost in New York on Sunday, July 20, 2003.
His host, The Rev. Dr. M. Joe Omeokwe is an Anglican priest and professor and department head in the City of New York University system. He used to serve at the rectory of a local Episcopal church until he incurred the wrath of ECUSA for voicing his belief that homosexuality is unnatural, unchristian, unbiblical and has no place in the church.

All of them were smart enough as teenagers that they would have questioned why I would discipline them for any of their misdeeds which were ONLY of the "Thou shalt not" variety when an officer of the national church was a practicing, non-repentant of an abomination.
The consecration of a homosexual Bishop should drive a stake through its heart. It will also eliminate an important prop that the royals use to maintain their throne. QE and her feckless brood have been as pagan, Godless and irrelevant as the Anglican church they have sworn an oath to support. It is time for them both to go.
I read a disturbing article about all the Anglican churches in England that are being sold to Muslims and converted into mosques..."the spirit of anti-Christ that is now in the world"...that does not mean "against-Christ" as much as it means "replace-Christ".
I believe that this "house cleaning" is also occuring in all the "main-stream" denominational churches that have become "liberal" in thei doctrine. You can see it in the dramitic drop in member numbers of all those denominations.
If any church body that does not hold to the truth of the "Godhood" of Jesus the Anointed One.
If any church body that does not hold to the truth that Jesus is the Only Begotten Son of Almighty God and that Jesus was God come in the flesh.
If any church body that does not hold to the truth that Jesus Christ is "the only way, the true way, the way to eternal life".
If any church body that does not hold to the truth that Jesus Christ is the Word of God made flesh and dwelt among us.
If any church body that does not hold to the truth of that the Holy Spirit of God is the Divine inspiration of the infallible scripture in the Bible.
Then, as it says in the book of Revelation "their candle shall be removed from their lampstand".
Only churches that are preaching the true, pure Gospel of Jesus Christ shall grow and prosper. And the good news is that there are many, and they are growing in every state, and even all over the world.
So what do you suppose most people will do? Talk or walk? My mother is reluctant to discard 70 years in the Lutheran church she was raised in, but maybe that is what the sodomites are counting on: calling everyone's bluff, because they know a lot of people won't leave... that would be too "hard." Well, in the end, Jesus Christ will do all the sorting out, and we had best believe that he will know each heart, and he will know exactly who had the courage and conviction to be true to His church and His word. He will probably not be pleased with this bunch of comfortable, worldly turds who are willing to turn His temple into a New Age bathhouse...
...nor will he be happy with the ones who stay in an apostate denomination, pretending it's not all that bad yet. The alternatives are out there, and they will rejoice when the faithful walk in the doors.
I walked years ago. Sad. I was in the choir for years, and went on retreats to a Society of St. James monastary, etc., but saw what was happening long ago. I miss it, but it's gone, and it will not be back.
The Anglican Mainstream movement presents an alternative. Basically, we'll stay in the church, but ignore this convention. Our focus will shift to the Orthodox 90% of the Anglican Communion, with whom we'll do God's work according to His will. We will flourish.
A bishop who wants to put a stop to this must argue that homosexuality trumps all of that -- something even they wouldn't do. (And if they did, so what? They'll end up with an expensive church building that they can't fill, but have to support.)
God will make this work for the best, so long as there are faithful people willing to make it happen.
She won't have to, if she finds a home in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod or Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. This cross-pulpit exchange is one of the reasons I choose the LCMS church 30 miles away rather than the ELCA church two blocks away. I wish her success in finding a new church home.
