One point that I have yet to see in the discussion about Robinson is found in 1 Tim 3:2 - an "overseer" is to be ...the husband of one wife. "Overseer" is the Greek word episcopos - look familiar?
"epi" = "over"
"scopos" = "to look, or see"
Therefore, an episcopos is an overseer.
And so Robinson fails the qualification twice:
* He is divorced from his wife
* He is living with another man, not a woman.
Therefore, he is twice disqualified. And I have not even spoken about the admonition in this passage to bring up his children to be godly (he has two daughters), or that the overseer must be "above reproach." And his lifestyle has brought great reproach to himself and the ECUSA.
Oh well. They aren't interested in what the Bible says.

Oh well. They aren't interested in what the Bible says. These churches that are "modernizing" to appear more palatable to modern society are doing a disservice to all.
What is their motivation? Could it be $$$$$ ??
I have absolutely no respect for a church that turns its back on the Bible and its most fundamental precepts for increased membership (read money).
