(You will need a browser with Japanese font capability, and ability to comprehend written Japanese)
As a FReeper Researcher, I have just come across a JAPANESE organization, based on an overseas JAPANESE website, in JAPANESE, that is encouraging foreigners to contribute money to and assist the "Campaign for American President Dennis Kucinich".
The URL of the activity was located at:
http://www.peace2001.org/
The organization is called "Global Peace Campaign" located in Japan. It is part of an umbrella of socialist and communist organizations opposing US efforts in Iraq, it supports North Korea, and is aligned with the usual communist movements.
The website has the invitation clearly written in Japanese, on the upper left side of the page, along with a link to the Kucinich campaign in the US, and a photo of the candidate. The organizers specifically solicit 500 Kucinich campaign contributors in Japan as a goal. Below are the comments in Japanese, translated by myself.
TOPICS: Breaking News; Crime/Corruption; Foreign Affairs; Front Page News; Government; Japan; News/Current Events; Politics/Elections; US: Ohio
KEYWORDS: 2004; 2004election; antiamerican; antiamericanism; antibush; campaign; campaignfinance; censureandmoveon; cfr; chinagate; clintonlegacy; contributions; corruption; crime; crookedpolitician; democrats; dnc; dncscandals; donations; election2004; electionfraud; electionlaw; electionlaws; elections; fec; feclaws; financereform; foreign; foreigndonations; funnymoney; government; hesacrook; illegal; illegalcontributions; japan; japanesecontribution; japangate; kucinich; liberal; nonamericans; pac; president; rats; rattricks; unamerican; votefraud

Asking if Japan blocked an infrastructure access is an analysis?

Which infrastructure are you describing?

Diet? What was the diet?
Anyway my post was in reference to the conversation we were having on this thread in doing whois searches for the domains.
Japan won't give us in the states whois access. They blocked us from that info. AIT had to do the searches from Japan.

I see.
the "Diet" is the name of the Japanese parliament.
Japanese Diet = US Congress
I have attempted to do DNS lookups and my software doesn't come up with info on the foreign website.
It looks like searching is more limited in the US than in JPN. Makes you wonder...don't it?

That is exactly what I meant by questioning the infrastructure access.
And thanks for the tidbit on diet.

Why don't you post all the links that need to be saved and you'll get several who will save them so they can't get lost. I saved it with the webpage complete option like one poster said to but I don't know if that saves all the pages it links to or not.
To: Calpernia
sure thing calpernia...
one thing to keep in mind is that the search engines for reverse DNS lookups may have been restricted in the US rather than from Japan.
I've noticed that my program to do rDNS lookups has been failing to locate data in the past few months for US anchored domains.

Laws broken or not - this solicitation of funds from international sources needs to be made public. Bring this story to the attention of the people where you intern.

Would it be all countries? Cause I just had three domain transfers from different countries (Canada, Australia, and UK) within the last three weeks. They all worked fine.
I'm not primary IT expertise...it is an add on to my main strength, Telecom. So...I'm learning as I go.

Though I think Dillbo and clan received plenty of it unscathed.
It will be interesting to see what happens with this.
Thanks.

The DNC had to GIVE BACK a lot of the known foreign campaign cash; after the election. As a matter of fact, I think some is STILL owed .
No candidate, for any office, in America can solicit, nor recieve donationas from forgien nationals. That's the law.
Someone should send this info to the proper channels.
To: AmericanInTokyo
Like one of the other posters said, I wonder how many other Democrat candidates for President is doing the same thing?
