MSNBC: Alleged (Kobe Byrant) Victim seen bragging at a party 3 days later

I just saw it on MSNBC. They said she was at a party a week ago, 3 days before Kobe was charged.

They said she was drinking (consumption by a minor) and playing cards, and was bragging about.....(MSNBC took out the audio at the end of sentence)

The story was confirmed by 5 people at separate places and times who were at the party and all gave a similar account of what happened.

When asked how the girl looked, the guy interviewed said she looked happy. Everyone was shocked to see her at the party given the incident.

I think someone may have even asked how hung was Kobe upon which she described with hand gestures. She seemed to be bragging according to a friend, but said she couldn't tell them what happened that night.

This just keeps getting better and better...

3. The Enquirer would be much more interested in digging up dirt on the celebrity in this case (Kobe) then the alleged victim.

But it's much easier to lie about some no one knows. For instance, which printed lie would be more believable: a lie about me saying I drag raced on the streets last Saturday night endangering bystanders, or a lie that President Bush drag raced on the streets last Saturday night endangering bystanders. Hardly no one would believe the lie about President Bush, plus it would be easily refuted, but a much higher percentage would believe the lie about me, because no one knows me nor tracks me.

DA knew of an alleged overdose

When District Attorney Mark Hurlbert weighed all the factors in the case against Kobe Bryant, he was aware the Eagle County woman accusing Kobe Bryant of sexual assault had been under emotional stress and had ingested too much medication, losing consciousness.

Last Friday, he charged Bryant anyway.

Notice that he knew before he decided to file charges. Deny it all you want, but that is one example of being wary of media reports. When it comes directly from the horses mouth, as I heard it from Hurlbert last night, you can trust it more than an article that was poorly written from beginning to end, which was noted yesterday on the thread. It was an incoherent mishmash of "reporting" and I'll go with hearing the DA personally.

This is just a ridiculous comparison, Kobe to Clinton.

We won't know that until we see the evidence at the trial. It could be that Kobe has a lot in common with Clinton.

Rape does happen. Period.

I have never denied that the crime of rape occurs. However, there have been hundreds of men falsly accused of rape; who have been imprisioned unjustly. Is this a case of extortion? Or a girl who feels 'cheap' in the morning? Did she find out she didn't get pregnant, and then missed the opportunity to live on child support from a Super-star for 18 years? Or ... did the crime occur? I have not heard any facts either way.... I just have questions at this point in time; and have this odd habit of believing a person innocent until proven guilty. Funny isn't it .... rape is the one crime where a man is considered automatically guilty until proven innocent.

I don't think that the victim is always blamed for rape. She'll be blamed in court by the defense attorney, but most members of the press are not about to slander someone who accuses another of rape. Since most states have rape shield laws, that will further protect the victim in court.

Since the Kobe case is so high profile, everyone can expect to get drug through the grinder. Most of it will be done by the press, not by the other side or their counsel.

It's unfortunate that people have to discuss these things, but the fact is, there are so many false rape allegations filed that it would be inequitable to expect them to remain "untouchable" by the press while the accuser is constantly slammed. Michael Irvin of the Dallas Cowboys had this same thing happen to him a few years ago. A girl accused him of rape, and the press destroyed him. It turned out to be totally untrue, and he challenged the press to recall the statements made about him with the same veracity as the smears made against him.

Sorry to hear about the girl, but at least she's doing better now.

Kobe's not running for public office, as was Clinton. Did Broderick file criminal charges at the time of the offense? If she hadn't filed charges, or didn't intend to in the future, then she had no reason to stay quiet.

It took years, and I still worry about her. She is fragile. She is married to a great guy- that helps. There are false allegations-no doubt. However, I believe many rapes are never reported to the authorities. Of the ones that are reported, many are not prosecuted.

I believe that Kobe did not rape this girl, but I also believe the DA about his knowledge about the girl's past.

Second, no the OD was not the story, the discussion centered around if it happened (and Hurlbert did not confirm it, though I suspect it happened--he said they did a thorough investigation and know everything is what he said), whether the DA had filed charges against Bryant without knowing the girl had any possible instability in her past.

You conveniently forget that he was accused of rape AFTER he had been caught with a couple of hookers and plenty of coke to go along with it. And he freely discusses all of that on the radio etc. today. The "Whitehouse" they had etc...

A lot of people here have none of the facts besides he was charged with rape but already defend him to the death. We have heard theorizing from sinkspur how she reported it because her Daddy didn't like black folks. Smogger thinks she dared not to like it up the butt and that's why she reported it. They know she liked rough sex etc. After an encounter that reportedly took less then 30 minutes.

I don't know WHAT happened and am very interested to hear what the EVIDENCE has to say but am amazed at the allegations at the girl etc... Everyone KNOWS she is a gold digger even though they know NOTHING about the evidence.

I dont think anybody is printing stories about drag-racing presidents. If any of Kobe's "friends" want to step up to the mike and drag him through the mud... I'm sure the papers and tv shows would be MORE than accomadating. However, so far nobody has, plain and simple. Whereas, in the case of our colorado girl.. there is a multitude of people willing to step up and reveal information about this person... and more importantly they are all local friends and townspeople....
