I've been wondering all day what was happening at the Ridgewood freep. Great job and kudos to all of you!

We had very bad thunderstorms yesterday in the Northern Virginia areas surrounding DC. The resulting power outages, power surges and loss of cable have played havoc with our computer network -- our cable modem, some power supplies and the router all burned out and had to be replaced.

Anyway, the cable DSL is still out, but I have dial-up and am happy to read about the adventures of the FReepers at Ridgewood. Once again, great job and thanks for being there!

I was driving home around 6:30 PM and it poured. I couln't see anything in front of me with the wipers on high. I'm glad we had a nice sunny day, a bit muggy, but at least no rain.

What is with these people that I am always attacked by someone???

I think some of them want to get you in trouble. If you respond physically to their assaults on you, the person assaulting you can (if police are not watching closely) pretend to be the victim.

You may be selected for your height. The assaultor thinks that a tall person can be made to look like an agressor more easily than a shorter, smaller person.

Like a sports match where one player elbows another when the refs look away. When the victim of the elbow assault responds, the refs are looking and the responding player is the one who gets into trouble.

Did you ever come down to DC to testify against the woman who assaulted you outside the Chinese Embassy? Or did you just drop the matter?

You will not regret getting cable. It response time more than makes up for the outages -- which are not that great. Besides, if you have a verizon cell phone, you can get a back-up dial up for six bucks a month.

Race did a good job. Soemtimes when I get on those things, I don't know why, but I get "out of synch" and it feels and probably sounds like I'm butting in.

It seemed that he had noise in his background and we had some on the street. And I'd lose the sidetone from them and for a second I'd think it was a pause and I'd start up.

If you've ever placed a international call that had a few up/down hpos and create a long delay, you'll know what it's like.
