You are correct, the period comes after the quotation mark.
With your incorrect punctuation, you just created an incorrect, run-on sentence. (The period only comes after the quotation mark if you're in England; that's their punctuation standard. It isn't ours in the USA. Fawnn says, "You can quote me on that.")

It's also disgusting!!!! LOL! You are, of course, correct. I didn't even notice the "typo" on my Post (#9) till now. I was so angry that I was "cussing" just a tad I'll admit.
(Maybe that had something to do with it. Freudian slip, as it were. LOL) J
Thanks for pointing it out.
Take care J

To: IncPen
I'm surprised it doesn't come with a photo of Natalie Maines too.

Hey, that's my old t-shirt. I threw it out a couple of years ago (January 2001 to be exact) because it didn't apply any more. Who has been digging in my trash?

"Except for ending slavery, fascism, nazism, and communism, war has never solved anything."
I can remember laughing out loud at a guy who was wearing a t-shirt that said the same exact thing....unbelievable how people can be so totally stupid sometimes!

There was a time when I might have worn that shirt. About a decade ago.

Comma/Period< The comma and period always go inside the closing quotation mark when there is no parenthetical reference.
"Really, there is no excuse for aggressive behavior," the supervisor said. "It sets a bad example."
The comma and period always go inside a quotation within another quotation when there is no parenthetical reference.
According to the film critic, "One of the most widely acclaimed actors in history, Humphrey Bogart, is quoted as saying, 'I don't like acting.'"
The period goes outside of the quotation mark when using a parenthetical reference.
"Animals have a variety of emotions similar to human's" (Erikson 990).
It appears you are correct. I stand corrected. No more run on sentences for me. 8^)

It appears you are correct.
It's refreshing to be both correct and right on the same day. ;)

I figured that was the case. I just had to snicker though and I figured you probably would too when you actually saw what you had posted. 8^)

Don't be speechless. Go there and post a comment on the comment board. Lets make it a replay of "alecbaldwin.com" where he had to shut down the message board. WE CAN DO IT.
