Hillary bedeviled by protesters

Protesters have become a regular feature at book signings by Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.), but so far, according to Clinton's publisher, Simon & Schuster, they haven't hurt sales.
Now Clinton may have another problem that could: conservative blonde nemesis Ann Coulter and her new bestseller, Treason.
Living History, Clinton's book, continues to do a brisk business, yet by the beginning of the week Coulter's anti-liberal tome had buried it on Amazon's nonfiction bestseller list. Treason started the week in the No. 1 spot, while Living History had fallen out of the top 10.
Unfazed, Clinton has kept a heavy schedule of appearances. By her estimate, she's signed 10,000 copies of her memoirs.
"I try to look at people," she told Newsday. "I give [them] five or six or seven seconds to say something. Some are tongue-tied, some have a whole speech prepared, some give me letters."
Considering the number of protesters she attracts, Clinton said, she's surprised she hasn't received more negative comments at book signings. For security reasons Simon & Schuster has never posted her appearances on its website.
"One man in a devil's costume . . .has been following me for three years," Clinton said.
The devil didnt show a week ago when she signed books at a store in Huntington, N.Y., but there was a guy dressed in desert fatigues and a Hillary mask calling himself "Rodham Hussein."

Are we, gulp, being misled?

Unfazed, Clinton has kept a heavy schedule of appearances. She is campaigning at Simon and Schuster's expense, similar to her "listening" tour of NY.

What is interesting is that Ann Coulter has NEVER done a public book signing. Yet her book is burying Hitlery's on the sales charts. What does that tell you????

How come we know where her book signings are scheduled to be and when? Wasn't it lifted from the publishers web site? The reporter needs to do some fact checking once and awhile.

You didn't read the whole paragraph:
For security reasons Simon & Schuster has never posted her appearances on its website.
Nobody knows she's there. So those who are showing up to buy her book, uhhh...could they be there by special invitation and media photo-op [not real buyers; just the appearance of real buyers]?

Did anybody notice that Richard Cohen, the ultra liberal Columnist for the the WashPost, did a hit job on Ann's new book yesterday. When the libs start criticising her you know the book has hit a raw nerve. I hope more libs knock her book. That means they are feeling the sting. He must of said 3 or 4 times that he was sure the book would be a best seller. Of course he was right about that.

I was talking to someone in a class last week who had been in a bookstore where "SHE" was signing the night before - the line was pretty long, but to actually get your book signed, you had to have picked up a slip earlier in the day. Nobody told the people who were waiting in line, that, though, so when they found out they had waited all that time for nothing, there was a public scene. How unfortunate.
