Publisher Lied About Hillary Book Sales
June 16, 2003
Here are some facts to smash the myths on Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton's new book: There were not a million printed. There were not 200,000 sold on the first day. There was not a "leak" to the Associated Press of the book's content. Hillary's publisher, Simon & Schuster, sent the data on Bill and Monica to AP. The American Prowler reports all of this.
More: Ann Coulter wrote a great column about this guy named Packer who made a big show of rushing to buy the book at midnight when it went on sale. He's quoted all over the place as a "man on the street." The truth? He's one of Hillary's campaign aides! Read this column, because it's truly amazing. The whole thing was staged. There weren't any real life book fans out there panting to get Hillary's book. This Packer guy was just part of the campaign. The Clintons corrupt everyone they touch, and that's been proven with this corruption of Simon & Schuster.
The Prowler quotes internal memos at the publisher: "Part of the plan to generate buzz on the book was the leaking of some of the most sensational tidbits that had been pulled together by three ghost writers for the former first lady." That was just an old trick to boost sales. You could run these sorts of scams 15 or 20 years ago before the new media, but not anymore. Not with us around.

Actually, I have no idea what he said. I just know his formula.
Once in a long while, I will listen to see if he can make me laugh. The parodies are too few anymore.
For reality, I have other sources.

Wait til it dawns on Hillary that she could have really sold books if only Bill had been removed from office!

Awsomely horrible. I hope it does not cause me to have a nightmare.

I once gave some Danish journalists some ridiculous quotes that they took completely seriously. They were doing a story in L.A. about the attitudes of Americans. I told them we have one basic philosophy here: "Money talks, Bullsh*t walks." Then actually had me spell out "Bullsh*t" for them. I would have LOVED to have read that story. Another time in L.A. I met someone who claimed to be the "Walter Cronkite of Norway." Therefore I gave him a bunch of total B.S. stuff to use in his report on America.
I love meeting foreign journalists. They are so easy to con!

If you read this article, which apparently is posted on his web site, you can see that he has made an error. It isn't mis-speaking, it is a mistake.
Yes, I know that Rush is an entertainer, and I know that he has a formula that works. It doesn't give him license to make mistakes in facts, however.
Well, it bothers me, regardless of your opinion. For people who are in cars traveling, making sales calls, or driving trucks, there is no other political news available during the day.
And if Rush was purely an entertainer, he wouldn't have accepted that little title of "Majority Maker" from the House Republicans in 1994.
To: Calpernia
It's a common, hildabeast induced reaction.

Please take your own advice and read the Coulter article; better yet here is the quote that you misrepresented:
Another average individual eager to get Hillary's book was Greg Packer, who was the centerpiece of the New York Times' "man on the street" interview about Hillary-mania. After being first in line for an autographed book at the Fifth Avenue Barnes & Noble, Packer gushed to the Times: "I'm a big fan of Hillary and Bill's. I want to change her mind about running for president. I want to be part of her campaign."
Looks like Miss Marple needs to get her facts straight.

If it was *really* a top seller (rather than fudged)... Amazon.com wouldn't be listing it at 30% off ALREADY.
Amazon, Borders, Barnes & Noble all routinely discount best sellers 30%.
In a couple weeks you should be able to get the new Harry Potter book at 30% off.

Alert. Hitlery is going to be on "The Late Show With David Letterman" on CBS at 11.30 ET tonight. It's a new haunting for her, not a rerun.

Not 8 days.
Hillary is still doing book signings.
