A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Thanks, Mixer!
1) Click on the graphic to open the Calendar. 2) Once there you can click on any month and even click to the right to go into next year. Once you are in the month that you joined FR you will need to click on the number in the calendar and then an add item screen will come up. 3) In the next box enter your name in the "Calendar Text" field and then click on submit. 4) If any of the screens fail to load simply click on refresh in your browser and that will usually fix it. 5) If all else fails or simply if you want me to do this for you send me a FReepmail and I will gladly do it for you. ~Mixer

My black cat is a couch potato. The only kind of cat to be! What a sweet cat. :-)
Hmmmmmm........I wonder why it is "black" cats are considered bad luck and not calico, or white, or tortoise....it's always the poor black cat that gets the rap.

I'm not sure, but I think The business of black cats started in the Middle Ages, when folks frimly believed in witches and evil demons.
The black cat was considered to be the witch's "familiar" his/her demon companion. So the poor old black cat was demonized by the Church and has been a symbol of bad luck ever since.
But I think that they are the most beautiful cat. 'course I like cats of any color!

I left rather upbruptly this morning after reading about whoever, that shocked me and I had to get away from here for a while. I'm okay now. I just didn't know how ill she was. I understand, Pippin. Even to those who knew how sick she was, it is a shock to be told she is no longer with us. I know there are many of us who will miss our dear "who".
I was hesitant to post this frivolous, fun thread today, under the circumstances, but Billie will be posting a thread in remembrance of whoever on Monday. I am told it is to be a 'celebration' of her time here at FR. She would like that. :-)

Looks as if you will be super busy and perhaps not return until evening, or to say good night.
I have been remiss in not extending to you, Billie - just Billie - - our Esteemed Editor - -

That would be great!
I'm going to ping some of the folks from the ATRW and the "DOSE" and Canteen threads to Monday's Thread as well as those from the Foxhole and the Hobbit Hole threads.
