CNNLIESI stuck one on the back of my windbreaker when I attented the Cincinnati Support The Troops Rally @Fountain Square in Cincinnati last month, and quite a few people commented how they hated CNN and asked about getting some sickers for themselves!

I had the same impression but I would be just speculating, because she did a 180 and continued the interview. Right after seeing the piece I got on FR and looked for a thread on guns to see if anyone else saw it and was surprised that it got passed over until today. There is a danger of things getting passed over when nobody watches the other channels. Maybe we should have assigned watching. It's a dirty job, but somebody has to do it. };^D )

In partial defense of CNN, there is a good chance their reporters and producers did not themselves understand the difference between full and semi auto. As an example of how incredibly ignorant the media is about firearms, see the repeated statements that "assault weapons" are vastly more powerful than ordinary hunting guns.
Not that ignorance is really a great defense for an organization that claims to be telling us what is going on in the world.

Look at that horrible assault brick. It clearly has a high-capacity silica-content, bears several horrible sharp edges, and if you drilled it, you could mount a bayonet on it.
It needs to be banned.

It is about time, and since I believe the NRA is complicit in the first bill being passed, we will just wait and see how much they fight for it's time out in 04.

IIRC, there was a battle going on within the NRA back in 1994 between the appeasers and straight-talking people like LaPierre. The appeasers were in charge back then, but it looks like the LaPierre faction is ascendent now.

The sheriff was from Broward county, which alongside Miami-Dade, is easily the most rabidly anti-gun area of the sunshine state. I think this wannabe populist politician aspires to be mayor of Oakland, CA or some other shining edifice of civilization when he grows up.
Shooter, the interview in post #54 is required reading for anyone who complains that the NRA is worthless. No other group has the gravitas to get on the air and refute this blatant propaganda piece, and Wayne really ripped CNN a new one.

There are numerous "gun groups" with voices equal to Wayne and with equal or better "PC WORD ALERT" gravitas. I don't complain the nra is worthless, see post 75. I do think the nra has allowed appeasers and compromisers to lead them down the primrose path. For these reasons the nra has failed to uphold the second amendment to the degree Gun Owners of America, JPFO, and SAF, have. I no longer belong to the NRA, I have tried 4 times and each time I am surprised at the directions they take and the legislation they think is good, and I think is bad for the country and bad for the second amendment. JMHO.
