There are numerous "gun groups" with voices equal to Wayne and with equal or better "PC WORD ALERT" gravitas. I don't complain the nra is worthless, see post 75. I do think the nra has allowed appeasers and compromisers to lead them down the primrose path. For these reasons the nra has failed to uphold the second amendment to the degree Gun Owners of America, JPFO, and SAF, have. I no longer belong to the NRA, I have tried 4 times and each time I am surprised at the directions they take and the legislation they think is good, and I think is bad for the country and bad for the second amendment. JMHO.

Wita, I hear what you're saying.

I belong to SAF, CCRKBA, JPFO, GOA, GOC, & CRPA as well (have I left anyone out? $;-)

My point is that no one but the NRA would be getting a return phone call from CNN to be interviewed and refute CNN's obvious lies. They are the 800-lb. gorilla, and the gorilla gets attention, particulary from those who wish it would just up and die.

Yes, the NRA has supported what was, in retrospect, dumb and unconstitutional ideas and legislation. They made the mistake of negotiating in good faith with the gun-grabbers who later proved that "good faith" was not in their lexicon. And the NRA learned, as did we all, that gun-grabbers are nothing but dishonorable creatures who are pathalogical liars who cannot be trusted. And so the NRA no longer does, from their own experience as well as the lambasting that it's members have given it for being so unwary in the first place.

Borttom line, if not for the NRA, America would already be disarmed, or in the throes of Civil War II, which still remains a possibility if we lower our guard and become complacent.

Just my view from the saddle. Stay safe,
