My website is Free Republic Highlights and I search each week for essays that are written by those who post comments and articles on that forum. The rules are that it has to be written by a 'Freeper' and posted on Free Republic. I present them back in an order of the ones I perceive to be well written and when I think the author did a good job of presenting their point of view in an interesting way. So anyone posting there is eligible to be selected for Essay of the Week.

I don't mean to imply that everything gets covered because I miss more than I see, but it offers to the busy person an opportunity to see some of the better essays that appear there.

When you post on Free Republic, that post is eligible, but I don't always see every post, so, if you post a vanity post or comment on another post or article, just give me a heads up by sending me a message on the thread or send me the thread and post number via email to make sure I see it.

Also if you read what you think is worthy of consideration, contact me however you choose, so I am sure to see it and it will be considered. That really helps me a lot because it's like having an extra pair of eyes always looking for good essays.

Free Republic Highlights has had its share of woes this year so far. I regret that I lost this week to more repairs, and that it took so long but many of my plans went awry as my knowledge of working with the web builder leaves a lot to be desired, but hopefully we will be back in full tilt soon and I look forward to all the great essays and quotes to come. If you find something that is not right and needs repair I would appreciate a heads up.
