I was wondering if someone could give me some information about a close friend of mine. His name is Robert John Spencer Jacobs, his nickname is RJ. He's in the marines and he was in Iraq fighting. I haven't heard anything about him and I was wondering who I can get in contact with in the Marines to send him a letter or something to find out if he is ok or not. I hope someone will respond to this letter.

I wonder why our President doesn't do more to commemorate the Fallen? Has he even been to a funeral? If only he would do this, wouldn't all Americans flock to him as a powerful leader?

From the
Boston HeraldA soldier from Roxbury who got his first taste of the military in the ROTC program at Madison Park High School was killed in Iraq on Monday, leaving behind a wife and two children, according to family members.
He loved the Army and serving for America, said Maria Montrand, mother of Sgt. Alberto Montrand Jr., 27.
The circumstances surrounding Montrands death remained unknown to relatives yesterday, said the dead soldiers cousin, whose name also is Alberto Montrand.
The soldier was stationed in Fort Jackson, S.C., and had recently returned from Iraq to spend time with his family.
Montrand emigrated from Cape Verde to Boston in 1996. His father had recently sat down with him to discuss his future. The son expressed a great desire to stay in the Army, said father Alberto Montrand Sr.
His cousin added, (He) had finished his first term but he re-enlisted because he felt he had a duty to serve the country.
Montrand had re-enlisted for a third time last December after being deployed in Kosovo and Afganistan.
In Iraq, he worked as a mechanic. His mother expressed shock, saying she thought he would be away from the fighting in that job.
Last night, dozens of relatives and friends offered their condolences to the family at a home in Brockton. Many of those present said Montrand is a hero not only in the Cape Verdean community but also for the country.
The soldier will be buried in North Carolina. His parents plan to fly there for his funeral.

Sorry to hear about the hero's death. Did you happen to know him?
To: Diddle E. Squat
I knew him as a fellow American, my neighbor, my brother, even though I never met him. God bless those spouses who have no-one warm to hug tonight. They need our prayers :(
To: chapin2500
Indeed. Thanks for adding his story.

God Bless them all and all your (Americans) sacrifices as well. Im a right wing Canadian living in a Liberal country. I was absolutely embarased when our LIBERAL government of the time wouldn't support you. At least we finally got a Conservative government again. I know that we couldn't get involved now with our commitment in Afghanistan as our forces have been drained by the past government but the Conservatives fist budget comes out on Tuesday and I expect a big increase in Military spending.
Once again, thanks for taking action when everyone else wanted to just put their head in the sand and hope it goes away. Unfortunately, I see the same thing happening in Iran.
God Bless All You Men And Women Over There from a greatful Canadian.
