This morning Senator Stevens of Alaska said that France was guilty of International Treason for selling spare parts to the the Iraqi's in January for their Mirage aircraft. It was against the embargo to sell them parts for their fighter jets.
Senator Warner and Senator Lugar also weighed in on the United Nations and France.
Great exchange! Then I came here!

Further, I pointed out it is more evidence of non-compliance.
Yes, I think the point being missed here is that Saddam has consistently denied the existence of these chemicals and the testing of these chemicals AFTER the date these tapes were made.

The last few days the Fox News Alerts have been just that! I hope they have been lurking! Those News Alerts every few minutes were getting to be a pain especially when they showed a house burning in CA one day!
They are back to Carl Cameron reporting on the Senate as well which is a plus!

Did anybody see the Frency Villipin's speech and was it as GLORIOUS as some of the cable channels are saying??? Actually, just the opposite. it was Jack Straw of Great Britain who blasted things open and addressed the de Villepan directly and emphatically, pointing out all the holes in the French position. Hope you can find a transcript somewhere; it was awesome. De Villepan looked stunned. A Fox commentator called it a "diplomatic body slam."
To: prairiebreeze
I'm hearing the French in effect changed the issue from Iraq disarming to whether UN Sec Council should always be the one to authorize war. And that the US/UK lost that debate France tried, but Jack Straw got things right back on track. It was quite obvious that de Villepan was fighting for the life (relevancy, if you will) of the UN. It looked pathetic.

FNC now reporting that US intelligence has discovered France has been selling military equipment to Iraq. This is strictly forbidden.

and mentioned powells presentation of something being outfited with a sprayer
the key is were the parts new
or used
if new, then the government knew
if used then it could have been some 'grey ' market according to gertz
To: PhiKapMom
Bill Gertz on Fox, reporting U.S. Intel. has
information a French Co. is selling Mirage jet parts since Jan. to Iraq. Depends on whether they are new or
used parts. If they are New the French Govt. can be tied,
otherwise they will have and out, and can blame it
on the French Co.

Darn, I was almost caught up with this thread when I had to leave and now I'm 4OO posts in the hole again. (Is that a pun, I'm not sure?).
Just came in to hear some Iraqi families on FOX who are upset with the countries blocking US/UK fearing it will soon be too late and we won't go in. I wish we could tell them, "Don't worry...it'll be soon!
I enjoyed taking french when I did. It's a beautiful language. I never use it living here in AZ, though. I can't go to any fast food restaurant here where everybody in the back isn't speaking spanish. My french only comes in handy when I watch the Olympics, lol!

The new amendment by the Brits give Iraq until March 17th to come clean or it's war Saddam has chosen war. He's digging holes and buying US/UK uniforms. He's not going to disarm, period. This whole inspection process has been a farce.

I will say this much, every member of my family over the age of 30 wants Saddam dead immediately.I don't know where my family in Southend stands on this as I haven't spoken to them for quite some time, but I hope they feel as yours does!
