US Companies and weapon labs have torched endless animals as well I have said it's pretty sad that they have to appeal to our sense of justice with the images of them harming animals. there is plenty of video of human victims. But of course that doesn't inspire any significant amount of righteous indignation.
I understand the need to test things on animals. Especially if you need to figure out how to treat your own people if they are accidentally exposed. But Saddam doesn't just use animals.

Part of me doesn't want to see them (the videos), but I guess I'll have to look when I get home. The dog didn't go into throes of agony or anything, just sort of looked very very tired and drugged. Then the man stabbed its leg with a hypo several times to try and elicit a response, and got none.

Did anybody see the Frency Villipin's speech and was it as GLORIOUS as some of the cable channels are saying??? I was hearing Villipin won the upper hand in todays round with Powell because he discussed "concepts" etc. and that Powell was "flat". Any opinions/updates??? Frenchy made a nice High School Civics Class Peace Plea, after which (point-by-point, and by name) he was utterly bitch-slapped and humiliated by Jack Straw.

it looks just like osama's videos..Saddams were made back in the 80's ..so it makes me wonder if Osama didn't get some info from Saddam

You sure?
Or will it be the really really double dare compliance? I'm sure the French and Germans will find an objection. Look Look Iraq has shown us one (1) nerve agent shell out of 30,000!!! Their showing progress and good faith.
The French and Germans truly are making the UN into the laughing stock.
Have you noticed that the French Germans and Russians never like to use the explicit and exact wording of 1441? It's all becoming relative and interpretive to them. Well, what does full compliance really mean? And is 12 years really that long? Besides progress on 1 out of 29 things is a step in the right direction. I mean, we are now destroying missiles (which he denied he even had) at a rate where we will be complete by say Christmas next year? Then we can start on the next thing. Say, R400 bombs. If we destroy them at 1 per week itll only take another 1500 weeks. Thank God we have such intellectual guys like the Germans keeping us straight. Without them we would be lost in a haze, with no direction, no clear vision, no goals. It is people like them that we have to thank for not watering down international agreements, for being able to REALLY interpret the meaning of (straight out of 1441):
Decides to convene immediately upon receipt of a report in accordance with paragraphs 4 or 11 above, in order to consider the situation and the need for full compliance with all of the relevant Council resolutions in order to secure international peace and security;
Recalls, in that context, that the Council has repeatedly warned Iraq that it will face serious consequences as a result of its continued violations of its obligations;
Requests all Member States to give full support to UNMOVIC and the IAEA in the discharge of their mandates, including by providing any information related to prohibited programmes or other aspects of their mandates, including on Iraqi attempts since 1998 to acquire prohibited items, and by recommending sites to be inspected, persons to be interviewed, conditions of such interviews, and data to be collected, the results of which shall be reported to the Council by UNMOVIC and the IAEA;
Requests the Secretary-General immediately to notify Iraq of this resolution, which is binding on Iraq; demands that Iraq confirm within seven days of that notification its intention to comply fully with this resolution; and demands further that Iraq cooperate immediately, unconditionally, and actively with UNMOVIC and the IAEA;
You see. Im ignorant. I know that. That is why Im happy that Joschka Fisher can interpret words like: FULL, UNCONDITIONAL, IMMEDIATE and COMPLIANCE! I mean, this is a hard concept.
Besides, we have all seen how Iraq has allowed interviews. Read the third bullet. But Im sure Im just interpreting it all wrong.

Well, we waited too long in WWII as well. But that's kind of a moot point now. Next time perhaps we as a world, may learn (but don't count on it). I agree that we should'nt count on it. France refused to even admit that the presence of military forces might be the reason that some limited cooperation occured. France actually believes that words and paragraphs have force and do not require military backing. This naive philosophy seems pervasive throughout Europe (excepting EASTERN Europe) and is also infecting america's youth. I have no reason to feel good about any of this.

hey dog, did Bush ever speak? I had to go out for a few. What'd I miss? I don't think I can take this stretching out the timetable much longer. One day it's one thing the next day it's something else.

That was pretty lame.. saddam killing cute puppies.. Cheap shot. US Companies and weapon labs have torched endless animals as well. This was just silly to show.
Let's see US companies test animals to further the well-being of humans.
Saddam test poisons on animals to perfect killing human beings.
Sorry, I'm not seeing the equivalence here.
John Kasich pointed out this morning that these videos are old, but there is NO evidence that Iraq ever stopped this type of production and testing.

"Definitely. I have heard it mentioned a few times but never repeated ad nauseam because this one paints them into a corner."Yep...that's why they only drag it out, dust it off and re-present it to us every few months or so. To easy to shoot down. 'Course that's also why the UN is being so quiet aobut North Korea: somebody's gonna ask them why Blix wasn't able to find Kim's WMD either (when ie was the head IAEA inspector).

I'm hearing the French in effect changed the issue from Iraq disarming to whether UN Sec Council should always be the one to authorize war. And that the US/UK lost that debate.
Anybody have an impression please??

The USA has tested about all our chem/bio weapons on animals.. And it wasn't for any cure either. It was to maximize lethality.
That part is simply true. I'm not saying it's the same as saddam is doing, but using this as saying saddam is bad is hypocritical.
To: Spunky
I'm sorry spunky, I didn't see your ping the thread was moving so fast. msnbc had more than one video, I think they had three to choose from.
To: RummyChick
CBS Radio News at the top of the hour specifically mentioned Straw speaking directly to Villepainintheass and calling him by first name.
