Just got in and only 1700+ post behind. Would you be kind enough to share any major happenings that I missed?

Blix's report was more whitewash, wouldn't directly answer the yes/no question as to whether Saddam has complied with Resolution 1441. Blix wants more time (months) to continue inspections. France and Germany spouted their usual rhetoric.

The Spanish ambassador was firmly in our court; she spoke impressively as did Jack Straw, the British ambassador, who departed from diplo-speak to address the French minister directly and by name (repeatedly), refuting each of the Frenchman's "points" one by one. FNC said de Villepan was "the victim of a diplomatic body slam." De Villepan looked stunned.

Later de Villepan spoke to the press outside the room with more of his desperate insistence that the UN is the only entity that should be presiding over the situation, etc.

My post 1805 doesn't begin to do justice to Jack Shaw's impressive address. Hopefully you can catch it on CSPAN or find a transcript. He hit it out of the park and then some.
