I am a college student pursuing degrees in economics, journalism and law. Because of the multiple courses of study, I have been in school a few years longer than average. Over the course of my studies, I have been enrolled in four colleges and will soon be in a fifth. In all of this time, I have had many professors. These pedagogues have ranged from the liberal to the marxist, to the downright anarcho/loony. As most of you already know, a moderate professor is rare and a conservative almost unheard of. The leftists control not only the classroom, but through the board approved hiring criteria that most colleges follow prevent anyone with opposing views from being hired, regardless of qualification. In the classroom, the leftist's main objective is to indoctrinate. They tear down our country, lie about our history, pillory our leaders, and seek to degrade our moral and religious fabric.
I have never hesitated to debate a professor and have never lost. Facts and logic always trump emotion. My grades have seldom suffered from the animus of my professors, largely due to my good natured, although pugilistic wit. However, I often hear of students who have been failed, black balled by letter of reference to graduate schools by spiteful leftists, or even brought up on charges of intolerance by the student government.
A less obvious consequence of this dire situation is that while leftist student groups are easily formed and generously funded with student activity fees, conservative student clubs are increasingly difficult to form. Most colleges require a faculty advisor for each student organization. In an environment where outing oneself as a conservative could jeopardize tenure, few will step forward. I have tried to form Eagle Forum Collegiate and Young Americans For Freedom clubs at four schools, and have been unable to find a single faculty member willing to associate himself with such an organization.
A typical case in point occurred three weeks ago in Boone, North Carolina, home of Appalachian State University. I visited this small, southern, mountain town last month. While in the downtown area, I happened upon a group of thirty or so students and faculty members holding an anti war, anti Bush, anti America, anti Israel, anti business, anti meat, etc., etc., etc. rally, that crippled traffic as they marched through town. There was no counter protest and the papers covered them as representative of the sentiment on campus. I called in to a local radio show the next morning and was informed by the host that there are only two republicans teaching at Appalachian State University; one in math the other in science. He told me that they had confided their party affiliation in him and asked that their names not be made public. No liberal nightmarish fairy tale of McCarthyism could rival the fascism on America's campuses. Of course, this is nothing new.
Conservative students have been complaining about liberal bias for years. Conservatives, being pragmatic by nature, have often adopted the view expressed by Sean Hannity who said, "Stand up to them if you want to, but if you need the grade to graduate or to get into law school, keep your mouth shut." Perhaps this advice has sufficed in the past. However, it is my opinion that while our men and women are fighting and perhaps dying for our freedoms in barely inhabitable deserts, to let this indoctrination go unchallenged is devoid of honor. If we are to support our soldiers and our nation, we must do our duty at home.
For this reason, I am considering putting together a monthly email newsletter. It will be free, and carry no advertisement as I have nothing to sell. The newsletter will be a service to conservative college students, providing research, debate points, and commentary on a specific issues. The newsletter will not be affiliated with any group. Subscribers will be encouraged to contribute to the newsletter to provide a wide array of outlooks and nationwide relevance. It may also provide a forum for sharing news on campus events, outrages, speakers and activism. In this manner, the newsletter could serve as a virtual conservative student club, informing and supporting conservative students nation wide. I will format it so that the newsletter can be printed and distributed on campuses.
Not only am I a college student, doing daily battle with the forces of liberalism and collectivism, but I am also a columnist of increasing syndication. I have a unique voice, very relevant to my generation, but with a broad knowledge of history, economics, and politics enjoyed by readers of all ages. Knowing how difficult it is for a new columnist to become published, I also envision this as a vehicle to help others of my generation get started as journalists and commentators. My column will be included in the newsletter.

He stated he never lost a debate. One uses arguments in forming a debate. It is possible to lose an argument while winning the debate.
This is typically the case: the more conservative faculty are found in the engineering and science (which includes math) fields. There is not much time for idealistic bologne in these types of classes, so many schools relax their requirements for liberal-minded professors. There are still many lefties in engineering and science, but the extreme liberals and marxists have little use for the dogmatic nature of these fields, opting instead for arenas that give them a platform to spout their self-centered nonsense.
As far as Sean Hannity's comment, conservative employers need to judge an applicant's gpa with a grain of salt. Students must feel free to take some grades "on the chin" in exchange for being the squeaky wheel in their classes. As long as the best and brightest are afraid to get B's or C's in their classes, we encourage them to sit silently and take their daily brain-washing. They are also unable to help their classmates understand the folly in the many liberal philosophies taught in the class.
