This is important. Drop what youre doing. Pack the car, get on a plane, a train, a bus or start walking. Our troops need your support right now! Theyre laying it on the line for us overseas and all they are seeing in the media is hundreds of thousands of anti-war/anti-American demonstrators marching in our streets.
As evidenced by this article Anti-war Protests Anger U.S. Troops Inside Kuwait those demonstrations are starting to affect morale. You can do something about that, but it will take time, effort and sacrifice -- a modest sacrifice compared to our men and women in uniform waiting for the the word to take out Saddam and his tyrannical terrorist regime.
The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic urges all FReepers and lurkers in good standing, as well as their friends and families, veterans and their friends and families and all others who want to stand up for America and support our troops to join us in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, March 1, 2003 for the Patriots Rally for America IV from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m at the outdoor Sylvan Theater on the grounds of the Washington Monument.
As the United States prepares to take the next step in the war on terrorism with probable action in Iraq, it is imperative that we get out and show support for our troops, our Commander-in-Chief and all thats good about America.
Our troops are there to give their lives if necessary in order to prevent another 9-11 from happening to us. Now more than ever, they need to see your support back home. Please dont let them down.
We are asking you to bring large American and Gadsden flags. Also, signs bearing messages supporting America, our troops, our Commander-in-Chief and the war on terrorism.
That same day, anti-American leftists will be holding an "anti-war" rally and march in D.C. The "anti-war" rally, organized by IAC-A.N.S.W.E.R. , a front group for the communist World Workers Party, will be held on the Mall near the Capitol Building between 3rd Street and 7th Street, N.W. The organizers have permitted other sites as staging areas for many in their group to assemble and then march to the main event. Some of these staging areas include: Constitution Gardens by the Vietnam War Memorial, the Northeast quadrant of the Washington Monument, and Freedom Plaza at 14th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W.
Another group has plans to assemble in the DuPont Circle area and march to Constitution Avenue, N.W. between 17th and 23rd Streets.
We do not expect any trouble from those groups. Law enforcement officers will be everywhere to keep the peace and ensure that everyones rights are respected.
As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for demonstrating will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no racism, no profanity, no threats, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
When: Saturday, March 1, 2003 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., rain or shine.
Where: The Sylvan Theater, located on the south side of the Washington Monument grounds at Independence Avenue and 15th Street, S.W.

Congratulations R***** Face****, you got your price of $158! By using priceline, you saved 46% on the total cost of your ticket when compared to the lowest published fare available (at the time of booking) for the itinerary and airline shown below. ....of course the ticket is $158 + taxes and fees = $183, but hey, Its still a good price!
I'll be there.

actually, there are many times that I've used priceline - and most of the times I get crappy flights. either too early in the morning or late at night. This is a direct flight at a reasonable hour for Friday Feb. 28. I am pleased.

I just emailed a bunch of press releases to country radio stations within a day's drive of DC. Country music fans seem to be a bit more conservative than npr listeners. ;-)
Next step - emailing press releases to talk radio stations.
FYI to all... Mediapost.com lists a gazillion radio, tv, newspaper and other media internet (phone, fax and mail, too) contact info.

Thanks for the info, OLV. Most DC Chapter members know about
Daryl Lamont Jenkins, owner and proprietor of One Peoples Project, a stalker site. He is a nutcase, IMO who
just can't stand it when we exercise our right to peaceably assemble and voice our opinions, which of course differ from his commie spew.
His smile belies his anger, and boy was he mad at us for holding the Patriots Rally for America II on October 26th. He stood up near the stage and whined at Kristinn that we wouldn't let his voice be heard at our rally. Silly guy doesn't believe in Free Speech for us. He kept saying that our permitted rally site was public property and therefore he had a right to voice his dissenting opinion at our rally. The guy wouldn't accept that, since we had a permit for the day, the rally site was temporarily our property.
He was caught off-guard when I started clicking photos of him, as he's used to wandering through the crowd, quietly snapping photos of FReepers for his stalking files.
As with any stalker, he doesn't like his face to be well-known. He is actively soliciting personal information, including social security numbers, addresses, etc. of DC Chapter leaders and active members, to post on his stalking site.
He finally got his wits (all three of them) back about him, and put his hat back on. Watch for this guy. He hasn't been violent with us yet, but he's MO, and his MO is to try and get into arguments near the stage, disrupting whatever guest speakers are up on stage. His big mouth has been his weapon at past events. He can be loud, but he's a dud.
He's a big guy, keep an eye out for him, and if you see him, let everyone around you know that he's a troublemaker and a stalker. If he tries to get into a "discussion" with you, ignore him, because once he gets started on his rants he won't shut up.

Thanks for the tip. If our demonstrations are as ineffectual as they claim, then why do they feel the need to try to disrupt them?
The folks at DU had a thread up about the Patriots Rally also calling for disruptive tactics. "Free speech for me and not for thee," seems to be the credo of the left. And they call us fascists, LOL!

We're going to have to roll out the red carpet (or something like that) when you come to town. Thanks for doing this. It means alot to all of us trying to put on a strong show of support for the troops.

I moved and haven't been dropping by FR as often until I get settled in. Maybe you could leave a post at the Florida Locale and see if you hear from anyone.
And, since wfla's s Glenn Beck went national & moved from Tampa Bay to D.C., his show isn't about Tampa Bay any more. I'm still adapting to that change. Sorry I couldn't help you out but have a nice Sunday, mmmmkay? God Bless America.

The reports are coming in and the numbers are going up. People want to get out and support our troops and President Bush. They want to make a stand for America.
Let's Roll, Everyone! If you can get to one, attend a rally in the next few weeks. Let's keep this grass-roots movement rolling from sea to shining sea! FReep On!
And don't forget to join the DC Chapter at the Sylvan Theater on March 1.
