I can't believe Hannity is allowing Col Hackworth (Ret) to run down the Active Duty Military again. Talking about some devective "protective gear", if you get my drift. Why would he continue to spew out all this crap that will be swollowed up by our enemies? Why doesn't Hannity get the story from the Active Duty people? If there really is a problem, why give the info to our enemy?????

I heard him say that too!

If Hack has the "official" battle plans, then so does CBS and 60 Minutes!

"Am I being too critical of Hackworth and his "whiners"?

No, you aren't. Hack's stabbed his brothers in arms squarely in the back, in grand Clintonesque style.

Hackworth is a piece of sh*t.

I just emailed the show to complain before I came here. I simply turn down the sound while Hackworth is on.

He's a legend in his own mind and maybe in Sean's. It's embarassing to give him airtime.

Not sure that Hackworth has the information on the suits being given out today. They have made a lot of strides in the last year. More research would have to be done to see what he is talking about but he has been on the same kick for sometime.

I sure wouldn't pay attention to Shays -- if Sen Inhofe said it that I would really sit up and listen. He hasn't said a word. I would contact his office if you want details because he is 100% pro military soldier! We have Fort Sill in our State so I cannot feature him keeping quiet if this were true.

With all his many awards, Hack still considers the Combat Infantryman Badge and the United Nations Medal for Peace -- which he was presented for his anti-nuclear work in Australia -- his "highest awards

He earned his UN medal for opposing President Reagan's defense policy while he was on foreign soil. Since Reagan's defense policy won the Cold War, it makes me wonder which side he is on.

Hackworth is a fraud. Everyone who bouhgt his books should demand to either see a copy of his DD-214 or get a refund.

Hackworth says error doesn't compare to Boorda suicide case

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- David Hackworth, the retired army colonel turned journalist who questioned medals worn by the Navy's top admiral -- who later killed himself -- acknowledges he wrongly claimed credit for two of his own military honors.

---------------------------------------------------

Hackworth said he also served with the 8th Army Ranger company, but Charles Pitts, who was the first sergeant of that unit, told CBS he "never knew him."

An Army official, asked whether the service had done a search of Hackworth's medals, said it had not.

"He's retired. There was no reason to," said the official.

"I admire his support of the common soldier, though".

Don't get carried away. Hackworth does NOT support the 'common' soldier when he constantly badmouths Rummy's defense department, our officer corps, their strategies and equipment issued. He undermines morale and sows confusion both in the military and civilian population with many of his unfounded, unsourced pronouncements.

There are other good analysts on TV (without Hack's bitter agenda) who have battle experience and/or special forces background who I'll listen to over Hackworth any day.

Am I being too critical of Hackworth and his "whiners"?

Not at all. I've heard him on Art Bell as well, and he always comes off as some sort of braggart know-it-all, even though his information is about thirty years stale. His comment on Hannity's show that he "knows the battle plans" was so damn laughable. What a maroon. Does he really think he still has a pipeline to sensitive information? He has delusions of grandeur. Thinks he's still in the Mekong delta. Hello? Anyone there?

Did anyone see the Hannity & Colmes show about a month & ahalf ago, when Hack gave Sean one of his military medals. Sean refused it, but Hack was insistent that Sean keep it. I don't know whether Sean keep the medal or not.

"Send Hannity this thread...."

Nahhh, he don't need it.

Sean Hannity is the most versitile conservative conversationalist I have ever heard. He is even better than Rush.

Sean has live guests and adjusts to the subject. Such wide knowledge is rare in a human. And, for him to be able to project an intelligent conservative opinion for so many hours is amazing.

Sean Hannity is my #1 hero.

Hackworth has not been relevant in a very long time. Hannity should show him the door.

It is a sad day when I have to turn Sean off. But-I will not listen to Hack anymore. Not because he doesn't have a right to say what he is thinking, and perhaps he truly is concerned, but because he is sending a very appreciated signal to our enemy ( who is listening ) and I dispise him for that....plus...if our troops have access to his words....he is implanting fear into their hearts. This is wrongheaded and harmful.

If he is truly concerned about the soldiers safety, he should be beating down the halls of the pentagon, not broadcasting this to our enemy.

Hack is a liar and an AH.

#1, When introduced as former SF, he never bothers to correct the introducer. Slackworth was NOT SF qualified.

#2, Business partner was the medic for Tiger Force. In books and elsewhere, Hackworth claims 1LT Gardiner gave the order for the foolish "Hi Diddle Diddle, Right Up The Middle" charge over large distance that got Gardiner and many others killed. BS. Order came directly from Hackworth to Gardiner on the command net. It was sort of an "Into the Valley of Death rode the 600" type thing. Joseph and others heard it, and Hack's RTO signed statement to that effect.

#3. In his book, Hackworth makes big deal of how many times he got into fist fights with other officers and EM under his command, (never with the old NCOs who could whup his arse!) Any officer who needs to lead with his fists is an AH. Would not have him over or under me.

#4. Hack's reputation began when he gave interview in RVN about General Officer failures to Howard Tuckner of CBS. Reason he gave the interview, (and of course, it gave the military-hating media exactly what they wanted), was that Hack was about to to be slammed for running all the whorehouses in IV Corps. (This is not a good thing for an 0-6 to be caught doing!)

I was at MACV at the time and have personal knowledge of that incident.

#5. He once had business cards printed with his name and the title "Mr. Infantry."

Finally, some of Hack's stuff, (need to improve small unit tactics, LRRP>Arty is good idea, not just LRRP>Arclight, promote the warfighters, not the politicos, etc., is very good.

The problem is he is so covered in political BS and his BS past that he can't see the Shinola for Sh*t in his eyes.

I get itchy and scratchy when he refers to men as 'cats'

You put that with his little "outfit" that he always wears, and one might wonder if he qualifies for the "Don't ask, don't tell" scenario.
