Saying that she is strongly opposed to "illegal immigrants," New York Sen. Hillary Clinton announced Tuesday that she would support a national identification card for U.S. citizens if other measures to keep illegals out of the country failed.
"I am, you know, adamantly against illegal immigrants," Clinton told WABC Radio's John Gambling. Then, a few moments later, the Democratic Party presidential frontrunner added, "We might have to move towards an ID system even for citizens."
Clinton said she would support a national ID card as part of an overall effort to improve the U.S.'s national security.
"Clearly we have to make some tough decisions as a country," the top Democrat warned. "And one of them ought to be coming up with a much better entry and exit system so that if we're going to let people in for the work that otherwise would not be done, let's have a system that keeps track of them."
Asked specifically if she favored a national identification system, Clinton said she would support "at least a visa ID, some kind of an entry and exit ID. And, you know, perhaps, although I'm not a big fan of it, we might have to move towards an ID system even for citizens."
Sen. Clinton, whose husband opened the floodgates to illegal immigrants in 1996 in hopes of naturalizing them in time for that year's presidential election, complained that too many Americans were employing illegals.
"People have to stop employing illegal immigrants," she told WABC. "I mean, come up to Westchester, go to Suffolk and Nassau Counties, stand in the street corners in Brooklyn or the Bronx (and) you're going to see loads of people waiting to get picked up to go do yard work and construction work and domestic work. You know, this is not a problem that the people coming into the country are solely responsible for. They wouldn't be coming if we didn't put them to work."

It also excempts illegals in NYC from any trouble from any local authorities, or them being turned in to INS. AND we pay their hospital bills.

Chips in the hand or forehead is an eventuality... I should know because I work for a company that is trying to develope such an item. Why? Look at the advantages: No more printed money (hence no counterfeiting to worry about). In fact no need at all to carry money--chip can be scanned as easily as a debit card. Chip also will carry all medical information for persons needing immediate medical attention, all personal information (arrest history, etc.) so police and other officials know immediately about persons in custody (instant check). Chip will prove instant citizenship and will be a useful tool for employers in considering new hires.
I'm not saying I advocate such an item but it's coming and we might as well get used to it!

Don't we already have passports?
To: Marysecretary
"...we wouldn't have to employ illegals."It is breaking the law to employ an illegal alien.

I'm not saying I advocate such an item but it's coming and we might as well get used to it! And for those of us who Refuse to comply? are we guilty of some sort of crime? Jail? I will NEVER comply to this. I will also never assimilate to big brother type antics. I find it horrifying that you think we should all just get use to the idea and not even bat an eye. IF this were to pass and be required will you still think the US of A is a "FREE NATION"?
This being said what is to stop people from chip stealing? Murder for a chip, cutting off hands and such for "chips". How will your company stop the chip theft? Chip copying? will all NON chip members have to go under ground? What you propose is horrific, and I for one will NEVER "get use to it".

the first "female" P of america Does that P stand for PMS? She is definitely the first (in rank not order) female of PMS. :-)

...it's coming and we might as well get used to it!Accepting that premise then you can get used to this; a vast underground network of resistors, widespread civil war and extreme guerilla war tactics.
If I need a chip to get from here to there or to make a purchase or whatever I'll simply carve it out of someone else's forehead. Most likely someone who thinks this is a good idea.

Well, Bonaparte, it may be illegal but they still do it.

True, true. The clintons never kept any of their promises. I wish they'd just promise to leave this country. Uh, no, that wouldn't work either, would it?
To: meandog
And if you choose not to use it? It smacks of the old One World Order, 666 stuff to me.

I'm not sure that she's not right in some ways. I hear people complain all the time around here that they can't get people to work. I know the jobs aren't the best in the world but a job is a job if you're broke.
To: trebb
You win the ceegar, my friend! Oh, when we're talking about the clintons, that's not exactly the prize you want. Hmm, I'll have to think of something else.

What time today did she say this?
Someone has put a bug in her ear about reaction to the Dem plan to trash President Bush about Homeland Security Funding, all the while hoping there is another attack, and doing whatever is possible to cause one.
Prior to Lott stepping down from the Majority Leadership, I saw on Fox News (did not note who was being interview), but they were saying how they were going to use the Homeland Security funding as a way to go after President Bush.
Since that time cities and towns across this country have been voting against a war with Iraq. Some towns have stopped police from arresting illegal immigrants.
Mayors and governors have been ragging that they are not getting funding for Homeland Security.
Hillary previous screeching about Bush not doing enough on Homeland Security on radio show.
Hollywood leads charge against war, followed by so called peace activists.
Kennedy against VISA legislation.
So the dems across this nation through the leadership of Hillary have done whatever they could to undermine Homeland Security. The one thing they want most is to see an attack so they can say we have been warning you about this.
Note past two weeks 2 major leaks: General Franks investigation; and on Monday leak about US pulling most of troops from Germany. Both leaks most likely came from Congress.
They are the epitome of "EVIL".
Today new theme old idea National ID card.
Does this creature ever sleep?

If one does not have a soc security card they cannot work in the US as it stands right? NOT SO... So how or why would anything else work unless our borders were properly policed and all terrorists/illegals kicked out? Now you are talking, and the bio-card is the way to do exactly that.
