[history]
Something strange happened during the 2000 Gore-Bush election fiasco you may have missed.
CNN, which was running 24-hour special election coverage, hosted a program with conservative columnist Bob Novak shortly after the disputed election results were returned. Novak was adamant that Al Gore should quit trying to steal the election and concede. To bolster his point, he brought up the results of CNN.com's public-opinion poll "Should Al Gore concede?" Poll results showed that a full 89 percent of the thousands of people who had visited CNN.com and voted had agreed -- Gore should give up the ghost.

Ahem. I have only read as far as your post, Fraulein, so I don't know if this has been addressed so far. The first thing that caught my eye (still haven't finished reading the article yet) was this:
First, some background: FReeping takes its name from its birthplace, Free Republic, a heavily trafficked right-wing Web site founded by a Fresno Republican in 1996...
Free Republic was founded by a Fresno Democrat who, like many Democrats, were fed up with their lies and treasonous actions. It was after the most recent election (2002) that our Mr. Robinson switched party affilation.
Liberals/socialists can never get it right! :)

Buahahahahaha
All you polls belong to us!

Free Republic was founded by a Fresno Democrat who, like many Democrats, were fed up with their lies and treasonous actions. Funny. I'm going to switch back to the Demmycrats next year....but ONLY to vote for Al Sharpton in the Florida Primary....then I shed my Demmycrat garb again like a bad memory.

Hey, its hard work getting labelled a "whackjob." I'll thank you not to undermine my effort! ;)

Right now Ms Slaton is multiplying 25 cents by 1000 (the high end of the "hundreds" claimed) and coming up with only $250. Moral of the story, Ms Slaton, is do your math before writing a biased piece. Oh, and will we be reading your CORRECTION, Ms Slaton?

No, no, no! You MUST take your cue from Ms Slaton. The term is "left-leaners." It is "left-leaners" who have absolutely no sense of humor. LOL! Why, sure. My bad. To repent my sin, I repeat my statement with my error corrected:
Left-leaners have absolutely no sense of humor!

She's in SF. She is multiplying 25 times 1000 and getting 25,000 and thinking "I don't see any problem here."

Why does this article sound familiar?? There was almost an identical article posted here a month or two ago. I don't remember who wrote it, but it's more than obvious that this SF Chronicle reporter read it, tweaked it, and presented it as an original piece.
The media are lemmings.
To: Smile-n-Win
If Ms Slaton dares to register here for a two-way conversation about her biased piece, a great User ID for her would be "left-leaner."

Please find it and post link here for analysis and comparison. Hey, wouldn't it be a pity of the "left-leaning" Ms Slaton got in buku trouble over plagiarism? Hee! Hee!

I'm thinking it was Pitt that wrote it. IIRC, it was titled "God sees the FReepers" or some such rot, and I think it is in the FR dustbin where it belongs.

>>Free Republic was founded by a Fresno Democrat who, like many Democrats, were fed up with their lies and treasonous actions<<
I tried to sign up for DU but they don't allow yahoo or hotmail email accounts -- too much of a chance that a FReeper would sign on and sew seeds of truth and light (and humor -- Lordy what a dour and bitter bunch they are!)
To: L.N. Smithee
"Though Taylor and Thompson both emphatically affirmed that they do not support posting of private information to Free Republic, making harassing phone calls or engaging in other illegal activities, the fact that such activities have occurred is alarming. " This is an out right lie. It's the other side who engages in illegal activities. The fact that the democrats are once again lying is not so alarming.
To: Dog Gone
I think the original was by Justin Raimondo. Either that or Todd Brendan Fahey.

Yes, that is what it was. It was posted here and eventually deleted.

If Ms Slaton dares to register here for a two-way conversation about her biased piece, a great User ID for her would be "left-leaner." Oh, but Ms Slaton doesn't consider herself a left-leaner! She's a "balanced" mediator between the "left-leaners" and the "right-wingers"--or so we are supposed to believe.
Of course, people are inclined to characterize those to the left of themselves as left-leaners ... leftists ... socialists ... communists, and those to the right of themselves as right-leaners ... right-wingers ... right-wing extremists, depending on how far to the left/right they are. To Ms Slaton, we are at least right-wingers and some "elements" among us are right-wing extremists, while even the nuttiest DUmmies are merely "left-leaners." An interesting insight into how far left she really "leans."

RE: Your #75. Man, truer words were never spoken. I wonder if the woman that wrote the article actually ever visited that "other" site? I've never seen such vile, filthy, and hate filled posts in my life!
