Not In My Name!

SAY NO!
To a Houston City Council Resolution
Against the War On Iraq

Tuesday, January 28, 2003

The Radical Left in Houston is attempting to get the City Council to adopt a resolution opposing a U.S. war against Iraq.

As our Nation is on the brink of war it is wrong for local Governments to publicly oppose our foreign policy and divide our Country. I do not oppose a war with Iraq. Most of my fellow Houstonians do not oppose a war with Iraq. I do not want this resolution passed in my name.

The Radical Left, in typical fashion, has penned a letter for their supporters to use. We, as free thinkers, need no such guidance.

This un-American effort thrusts our City Government into National politics. Therefore it is a concern for every American. I call on everyone, not just Houstonians, to write to  Houston Mayor Lee Brown and Houston Council Members and urge them to stand behind President Bush and as he defends our freedom. Insist that we present to the world an America united against terrorism.

Copy and paste the list below to address your message to Mayor Brown, every City Council member and a copy to our Chapter.

Thanks for those email addresses!

Ditto. When Houston can come to Brazoria County and try and tell us how to drive then we should be able to share our views when their city government does something stupid. I can also refuse to shop or eat in Houston and pay their sales tax.

If these morons think "war is not the answer"...
then it is obvious that they don't understand the question.

I borrowed a few of your words (early-morning meeting, no caffeine yet), and they're quite eloquent. E-mail sent:

As a dedicated Harris County voter who votes in all elections, including local ones, I wish to register my STRONG protest against the proposed antiwar resolution.

With our nation on the brink of war, an effort such as this thrusts our city government into national politics, where it does NOT belong.

It is more important now than ever to present a united front to our enemies.

I do not oppose a war with Iraq. Most of my fellow citizens do not oppose a war in Iraq.

I do not want this resolution passed in my name.

Stay on the right side in this fight against evil, and do not pass this resolution.

Many thanks for your consideration.

(Sigh)

I really, really wonder what in the world our city council is thinking, or if they are even capable of thinking.

Yeah, but you get in trouble with CPS when they find out you make them go to the bathroom outside.
