Bart James, a Republican political director, was warned how unfriendly Democrat-rich Broward County is to the GOP. But he never believed it until this week, when thousands of dollars worth of Gov. Jeb Bush's campaign signs were vandalized.
Then James was threatened by an anonymous caller.
"There is a lot of stuff I've seen down here that I've never seen in politics before," said James, who has worked on Republican campaigns in Arkansas and other Florida communities. "It's new to me, but then again, this is Broward County."

I still run into liberal nuts who think that Jeb tampered with this county's votes. LOL!
To: Arthur Wildfire! March
Those nuts are everywhere. They can't let the facts get in the way of their thinking....or not thinking as the case may be.

be ye not surprised. the john lomelo jr. mentioned in
this story was for a number of years the head of the broward democrat committee --- until he and a fellow named spike liebowitz went to the federal can for shaking down developers. (the 14 state's attorneys investigations went nowhere because the state's attorney, michael satz, was a democrat, too, whom lomelo boasted was "in my pocket.")
lomelo, it will be no surprise, learned his politics as a minor hood in new jersey.

I'm not surprised. The place is infested with limosine leftists, and you know how intolerant the left is.
Broward County is the leftist barf bag of Florida.

"It is possible that it is somebody who doesn't like Bush," said Wasserman Schultz. "But it is possible that somebody doesn't like the color red, or doesn't like political signs in general. Who knows?"This has to be a joke.
Why the GOP would even waste their time and $ putting up Jeb's signs in Broward is beyond me. It's a Socialist enclave. Thank GOD I don't live there any more.

"Democratic leaders condemned the vandalism."Sounds AMAZINGLY like Yasser Arafat "condemning" terrorism.

There is no Lemelo, John, Junior, jr or otherwise, mentioned in the story. Care to elaborate?

Actually, this also happens in Alachua County, which is the only Democrat county in North Florida, thanks to UF at Gainesville. During the 2000 election, virtually all of Bush's signs (that's George Bush) were stolen as soon as they were put up. The local Republican org. didn't have time or money enough to print more.
Ah, Dems, fairness in action...a moral beacon for us all.

AHHHHH....the Broward County/Lemelo link...thank you for the clarification!

My understanding is that in broward county all candidates have to have sign patrols to protect their campain signs. The problem is you can replace but there is no real way to prosecute unless you have a security camera on each sign. Were these billboards?

Funny, but, before I even clicked on the story, I knew that the perps would be Rats. They are so disgusting!

"Why the GOP would even waste their time and $ putting up Jeb's signs in Broward ...."
Because there are families moving to broward. These are conservative and do not vote the same way that the living dead vote. Broward has been increasing the Republican content of the county. The hood crowd is dying or under investigation by the feds.

It won't matter. I passed one such defaced sign today in Lauderhill on State Road 7 just south of Oakland. The "Jeb!" had a circle and bar in front of it. It all seemed rather childish on the part of the McBride people. What a bunch of f%&king idiots, I remember thinking.
Look, this is Broward County. For the time being, this is the kind of politics that is played down here. All we Broward Republicans can do is go down and vote our consciences and, of course, assist in the volunteer effort to turn out our vote on the Fifth.
Nice that someone brought up John Lomelo. Now there's a minor Wiseguy who made good down here in Sunrise. It didn't stop him from getting in touch with his Inner Democrat and shaking down private businesses.
Broward is corrupt, indeed, it is probably the most corrupt county in Florida. It will remain so until the Republicans start moving in here.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
