Does Rush talk more about his hearing and football more than what is going on in politics lately, or is it just me? I know Pat Summerall is retiring and Rush wants to be paired up with Madden, but the last few weeks with all that is going on in the madcap world of politics, it seems Rush would rather talk about other things......just wondering.

It's just you.

Viva Rush!

I think he is talking more about football because of the playoffs and Super Bowl. As for his hearing, it must be wonderful and kind of new-to-him again.

...with all that is going on in the madcap world of politics... I am shocked, appalled, dismayed, perturbed, etc, etc, that you want to talk about Rush!

Just bumping through...

I've listened to him from the time he went national. He always lapses into sports talk at particular times. It's a temporary thing. As for talking about his hearing, I imagine that a lot of people are interested and are emailing and calling, so he's letting folks know about what's going on, and how it's affecting him. No big deal.

I think that to go back to sports would be great for Rush. That is where he started. His carreer in political broadcasting is not over, but if he wants to exit while at the top, now is the time. He has certainly earned it.

Yea, but he's still the best. I love politics and football, so its been great. As far as his hearing, well...I sure it was a traumatic experience for him.

Rush wants to be paired up with Madden...

It'll never happen. They'll never pair two big, likable loudmouths together.

Madden needs a straight man to work of off.

Stick to something you know. Summerall is a play by play man and Madden is color. Limbaugh is a color commentator. You wouldn't match Limbaugh and Madden. Period. Limbaugh makes no secret of his love for football and for his Pittsburgh Steelers; his friends have learned to live with it just as they learned to live with his fanatical pursuit of a grooved golf swing.

I think he talks about his hearing because he is grateful to have it back. I am sure grateful he has it back!

Football. Well I don't care for football but he has always been a sports guy.

If I was deaf for six months and then got my hearing back I would probably talk about guns, the war, and politics until anyone who listened to me wished I was deaf again.

He will get over the football thing.

It's just you. Cool.

A lot of us are very interested in the hearing problem and solution. Rush's experience could do wonders for deaf children and others in doubt about getting the implant. I, for one, am fascinated by medical advances and Rush always makes things clear and interesting.

He hasn't talked too much about sports at all until right before super bowl. He can't talk for three hours every day about exactly what you want him to talk about.

I hate the expression, 'get a life,' but maybe you should think about it.

Rush is a partisan Party hack, who is not a real conservative, but a loyal party man. That is a shame. He never speaks ill of republicans, no matter how flawed or wrong they are. He is afraid to clean his own house. And that is wrong.

no, it's not you.

rush has made his $100 million and the forces that created him have receded.

rush was valuable in 1990 when alternatives to the left-wing media were few and especially in 1993 when the clingons came to power.

i get tired of his fluff on how he pulled himself up by his bootstraps, a farce. not everyone grows up with a uppermiddle class lawyer family.

I believe Rush has tried to model that while a passion for the nation and its politics is a good thing, there is more to life.

His chatter about cigars, golf, "the lovely Marta," and football are his way of saying look--don't bury yourself in the latest outrage from the skunks at DNC-- God gave you a life...live it!

Then too, of course, it IS SuperBowl Week. Relax.

1. Friday is "open line Friday" =talk about anything
2. A lot of it comes from people calling in
3. It's that season right now, soon to be over
4. Maybe you dont know but Rush was in sports before doing what he does now.
5. Day after day of solid rotten politics gets boring to some, that's why I dont mind football talk once in awhile.

I like the football talk. I think he's covering politics. It was painful to shut it off today when he started covering lousy Lauer's interview with Albright (had an appt.).

I enjoy hearing Rush talk about anything because he is so well Informed and has an outstanding way of getting what he thinks across the airways.

Fox News Channel, Newsmax, WorldNetDaily, Free Republic, and the entire Conservtive movement would all be mere shadows of themelves without Rush Limbaugh. Is that correct? Or... Is it just me?

I get the feeling he would prefer not to discuss his hearing loss but us the listeners want to hear and therefore, he shares with us. But I also know that if I were in his shoes I would do the same. At the same time can you imagine the excitement he must be feeling hearing again!!!!!!!!
