The amount of oil in the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve plunged last week to the lowest level since 1983 as the Trump administration continues to deploy emergency oil to minimize the damage from the war with Iran.
According to federal data released Monday, US officials released another 8.9 million barrels from the SPR last week alone.
That leaves the US emergency oil reserve with 340.3 million barrels of crude, taking out the prior low set in July 2023 under President Joe Biden after Russia invaded Ukraine.
The last time the SPR had less oil than today was July 1983, when the Reagan administration was filling the reserve for the first time and when the United States had a smaller economy.

Had Biden added oil instead of taking oil from the SPV, there would have been more for Americans to use today.
It is there for war. We were at war. Boosting the price of gas was part of the enemies plan. Their only path to victory was through the Democrat party. They knew if the Democrats gained power they were more inclined to hurt the President than help the country.
Biden left it lower than anyone before him, leaves gtrump with it depleted now the Clown news network blames Trump who is actually fixing the mess left by past presidents.

The United States is a net exporter of oil, so this is no big deal. We we a net importer of oil by a wide margin when the strategic oil reserve was first started. Huge difference.
Biden isn’t President now. Trump is.

Biden drew down most of our reserves and failed to replace ANY of the oil he sold.
Much ado about nothing. This nationhas plenty of oil. So much so, that we are selling oil in the marketplace to foreign nations. We will fill reserve when the price starts rto return to normal, instead of doing so right now at higher prices.
