President Donald Trump's approval rating has sunk to the lowest ever, with voters expressing displeasure with the war with Iran and the cost of living.
A new Daily Mail/JL Partners poll found that Trump's approval rating has slipped to 42 percent.
That's down from the 44 percent approval he received on March 3, just days into the Iran conflict. Trump held a 48 percent approval rating as recently as late January.
Trump's performance in the Middle East is partially driving the disappointment.
Twenty-eight percent of respondents cited the war as the top reason they disapprove of the job the President is doing. This is up from the 20 percent who selected the Middle East in early March.
The President continued to cheer on the Iran war on Friday, telling guests at the White House, 'We're doing extremely well in Iran.'
An even larger section of the population, 44 percent, said they disapproved of Trump due to inflation - up from 38 percent at the start of March.
The Iran war has already created pain at the pump for Americans, with gas prices up to $3.90 a gallon nationally, compared to the $2.90 a gallon Americans were paying before US strikes started on February 28.
A staggering 54 percent said they'd blame Trump if gas prices rose as a result of the conflict, with only 20 percent pointing a finger at Iran.
Among Trump's voters, 27 percent would blame Trump, while 38 percent answered Iran.
There's also very little appetite for gas price hikes to guarantee a military victory.

Well our one gas station/market raised its price per gallon to $5.30/gal.

I know I’d rather pay lower prices for gas, but I paid high prices for four years under J. Robinette Biden for nothing. The country was going to hell, aliens were streaming across the border, and stupidity reigned while gas prices were manipulated based on terrible government policies (CAFE, EV, etc)
Now I’m paying more for short time while hearing the good news every day of YAISB (Yet Another Iranian Scum Bag) being removed from the planet.
Not everyone will feel this way but the fact is undeniable that they paid it before for no reason at all and now they’re paying while history is being changed for the better.

We need to be honest about the pros cons and long term effects of doing the same thing another decade, or try to end it for long term so their grandkids don't have that to deal with. But clarity and courage to also admit, we may be screwed.

Daily Fail is so desperate.
This current generation of Americans is practically collapsing at the prospect of paying higher gas prices for a few months.
I can’t imagine how they would have dealt with the gasoline and food rations of WWII.
Polls don’t interest me much.
And polls have NEVER meant less to Trump.
That said Trump has put himself on the clock with this offensive.
He doesn’t need me or anyone else to tell him that.
There had better be some closure by July 4th or polls like this will be haunting and hindering the rest of his second term.
Actually 42 percent is pretty darn decent..I remember last year they were saying his approval was at 39 percent so actually this is an improvement
