The House on Wednesday batted down an effort from Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) to publicly release all reports on file with the House Ethics Committee on investigations into members of Congress regarding allegations of sexual harassment of staff or of a sexual relationship with a member of their staff.
In a 357-65-1 vote, the chamber moved to refer the matter to the House Ethics Committee — a move that essentially kills the effort. Thirty-eight Republicans and 27 Democrats voted against referring the resolution to the panel.
*** The resolution directs the Ethics Committee to make public, within 60 days after adoption, “all reports, including any conclusions, draft reports, recommendations, attachments, exhibits, and accompanying materials, with the personally identifiable information of victims or alleged victims redacted, related to the Committee’s investigations into violations” regarding alleged sexual harassment or sexual misconduct.
*** The House Ethics Committee came out against the resolution shortly before the vote, saying it “could chill victim cooperation and witness participation in ongoing and future investigations.”
“We believe House Resolution 1072 could have a negative impact on the Committee’s ability to investigate and eliminate sexual misconduct in the House. We encourage the House to refer the resolution to the Committee at this time,” the panel said.

3-Congress is rife with abject hypocrisy.
4- If any members of the Trump Administration are brought before Congress regarding Epstein, every inquiry should be met with “Congressman ____, you voted against releasing the names of the Congressmen who engaged in sexual assault. The victims were paid off with American taxpayers’ money. Are you on the list of sexual predators? Why are you such a hypocrite?”
5- Here is a link to the Congress members and their respective vote: [I have attempted to embed the link to no avail]

Who says bipartisanship is dead ??
If someone makes an accusation about criminal/ethical matters or just plain personal misconduct, there's no way in hell the person making the accusation should remain anonymous.
What a bunch of absolute scumbags we as a nation have elected to Congress. They’ve set up a slush fund to silence the victims of their sexual predation using our tax dollars, and they just voted to keep us from finding out who the predators are and how much of our tax money they used for hush money. In a sane society, we’d string them all up.
Hypocrits gonna hypocrit....
“Release the Epstein Files!!!”
But don’t look over there, comrade
Gee, what do they have to hide?
They should all be subject to lie detector tests.
HA haaaaaas! And who is on The House Ethics Committee?
This reminds me of the last time that the GOP-led House shut down sexual misconduct probes. Then Dennis Hastert got arrested for sexually abusing teenage boys.
I agree.
The same standard should apply to everyone, not just Members of Congress. It's why "journalists" should not publicize anonymous accusations. It's why police investigations that don't lead to charges and grand jury testimony should not be released. It's why the Epstein files should be handled very, very carefully.
When anonymous accusations become the coin of the realm -- as sources ranging from graffiti on restroom stalls to social media to "journalism" as it is practiced today will automatically do -- the culture of extortion and shakedowns rules supreme.
The LeftWorld media covered up for JFK, LBJ and WJC. Then it turned around and hyped every bit of rumor and innuendo ever directed towards Republicans, from Nixon onwards in the modern era. It didn't begin with Trump. We have been spiraling into chaos for a long time now. And that's one reason it has become so difficult to get good people to run for high public office.
Members of Congress aren't the only people who will be immediately savaged by false accusations. They shouldn't have a special immunity not afforded others as well, but the problem is real.
Exactly…
Agreed. Redacting the names means the Representative does not have the right to effectively confront their accusers. I want the records released, unredacted.
this chick should have beena porn star...she is obssessed with sex.....psycho.
Amen!
Pervs close ranks.
Amen again. And it should be made shortly after the event in order to have any credibility with me. An accusation made 40 years later has almost zero credibility with me.
And guess what....women do lie. They went for the money instead of filing charges??
They’ve been Maced.
Who says bipartisanship is dead ??

Yah, they don’t agree on much, but when it comes to hiding their sexual deviancy, we have universal agreement to keep the lid locked down shut. This reveal is exactly why we have the shenanigans going on in the Epstein intelligence honey pot matter. We can see what sexual deviancy has already brought to some of the big shots in the Epstein matter who have taken financial hits and embarrassment over disclosure. So, when it comes to sex and their own immoral depravity and perhaps even criminal sexual violations, it’s all hush, hush.
