A deranged female child therapist from Long Island was sentenced to seven years in prison Friday for sharing revolting baby-rape videos online, where she also pretended to be a father who raped his own children.
Renee “Rina” Hoberman, 36, was blasted by prosecutors as a vile “predator” who “got off to the helpless screams of babies” at the federal sentencing hearing in in Central Islip.
“[She’s a] danger to society.”
More than 100 images were found on Hoberman’s devices and accounts — many involving the stomach-turning sexual abuse of young toddlers and even newborns.
Hoberman, a licensed social worker from Plainview, pleaded guilty in June to distributing child porn videos on the social media app Kik, including footage of a baby less than 1 year old being raped.
She shared the sickening videos in 2024 while working in Melville as a therapist with kids 17 years old and younger.
On Friday, Hoberman initially entered the courtroom with a smile and waved to family members — but her smile dropped after Seybert handed down seven years.
Her defense attorney, Evan Sugar, said she was abandoned and sexually abused herself as a child, but didn’t go into details.
She later turned to drugs, including crack, to cope with the trauma and said she is now 16 months sober.
He asked Judge Joanna Seybert to sentence her to 2 to 3 years in prison.
But Seybert was not convinced.
“These are babies!” Seybert exclaimed.
“Something needs to be done — and jail is a deterrent.”
Haberman also spoke to the court and apologized to her family and victims in the videos.
“What I’ve been through is no excuse for my actions,” she told the judge. “Her conduct is simply grotesque,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Kaitlin McTague said in court.

Demon.
Sometimes I wonder what’s taking God so long. 😔
I think that a real justice system would use at least three types of punishment:
Corporal punishment — like the caning they do in Singapore.
Imprisonment — put some people in a cell for a period of time.
Capital punishment — just end the problem.
In my opinion, Capital punishment is one of the really important types and should be used far, far more than it currently is. She’s a real candidate for a quick death. How does society benefit from having her around?
I think we are seeing the final revival of the church prior to the rapture....
hopefully general population will take care of this problem
man there truly is some sick mfr’s in this world...
You omitted my favorite .. “Internal Exile”, specifically to the most remote, bear infested place in Alaska, and simply invited to “walk home”. For this woman, however, a drop-off into the shark-infested waters between the US and Cuba might be a better fit.
That tired saying overused by Hollywood applies:
“God works in mysterious ways.”
Maybe He wants us to stew in our own self created misery for a while?
And there are other cultures that have it far worse, for example Iran where the regime is slaughtering anyone that does not like the regime.
She has the crazy eyes, alright.
Why is it that poeple from the lower 48 always want to dump their trash here?
People sometimes wonder about whether or not the death penalty has a place in a ‘civilized’ society. And then we meet someone like this, and the answer that yes, it does, becomes abundantly clear. I wish now that I had not even learned of this demonic horror.
“and jail is a deterrent.”
So is a hanging.
Only seven years???
Those poor babies. I hope that monster hasn’t messed them up for life. :(
Somebody else for the Demoncrats to protect?
I always wonder what seven years in prison - if she’s even there that long - is really going to do for someone this sick, and how it protects the community from her when she’s let out. We need insane asylums again, or at least facilities for the criminally insane that provide psychiatric observation and care.
Sometimes I think that we need to bring back burning at the stake.
