Florida Republican Sen. Rick Scott told "The Charlie Kirk Show" on Thursday that Senate Republicans are going to pass the SAVE Act to mandate voter ID and verification of citizenship to register to vote, and if Democrats want to stop it, they'll have to do a talking filibuster.
"The concept that you don’t have to show your ID to vote is foreign," Scott said. "We're going to get this done. The president is on board. He knows we have to use the talking filibuster to get his agenda done."
"Is it a pain in the rear? Yeah. But so what? This is a full-time job. We ought to be busting our tails every day for the American people. This is a very important piece of legislation that’s going to save this country," Scott said. "You're being too nice. The Democrats know they can't win wit their polciies, they want fraud to win. The only explanation is they want to cheat."
"If you want to talk, have at it. But when you’re done talking, we are going to vote, and it’s going to take 50 votes plus the vice president to pass legislation or nominations."

Once again... all talk from the limp wrists. Let’s see some action you gutless POS Repukelicans...
Having to show an ID to exercise your constitutional right to vote is voter suppression.
Please remove. One was posted after I searched and before I posted.
Thank YOU, Fire Marshall Bill, for doing more to help Trump win than Trump is doing to help himself!
tell it to Thune.
And how will you (he) do that without Thune's buy in?
Will he extent a "legislative day" to exceed the time the dems can talk and therefore end the filibuster and allow the vote?
Kiss the real Amish vote goodbye.
The real Amish put Trump in the White House twice.
I am all for showing an ID. I would even be in favor of funding the ensure that everyone has one when they register.
But I wonder if this is constitutional. As it has been said a million times: Elections are the purview of the states. There are NO federal elections.
But I am sure they have someone looking at that.
I hope it passes. It will be nice to see the libs around here in MA lose their heads. Some more.
This statement simply isn't true; the First World countries all require voter ID.
It's here where it’s been normalized to show up to vote without ID.
It is spelled with two “L’s” if it is somebody’s name, as in “the Marshall Plan”, “the Marshall Tucker Band,” or “the Marshall Islands.”
Great, Rick!
Hope you can get Thune on board.
Can states require you to own property to vote? Make you take a literacy test? Pay a poll tax? Let 13 year olds vote? Not allow women to vote?
I think you missed the "don't" part.
"The concept that you don’t have to show your ID to vote is foreign," Scott said.
Believe it when I see it. No confidence in GOP. Unless you are MAGA, you are worthless.
I hope TDS will not infect the good judgment needed for votes dealing with many issues facing the US.
Spartacus Booker, please pick up the blue courtesy phone.
I didn't.
The concept that you don't have to show your ID to vote is not foreign; it's domestic.
A foreign country would laugh you to scorn if you suggested one did not have to show ID to in order to vote. Because the US allows it, the concept that you don't have to show ID to vote is not foreign (because foreigners would mock the idea mercilessly); it's domestic (because Americans have become quite used to the idea that voting without ID is acceptable).
When he talks about passing voter ID with the talking filibuster, it sounds more hopium than possible in Thune’s senate. But then he starts talking about how they want to defund ICE, etc. and at that point he just makes the argument for getting rid of the filibuster and doing everything.
And we know there’s no GOP stomach for doing that.
