With Congress back in session this week, Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna of California and Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky are reigniting their push for the Justice Department to release files in the Jeffrey Epstein case.
Khanna says that "people are going to be outraged" after seeing a news conference he and Massie are holding on Wednesday with 10 victims of the late convicted sex offender.
The news conference is part of the effort by Khanna and Massie to pass through the House a bill requiring the Justice Department to release its files on the Epstein case.

Khanna argued that "there are a lot of other rich, powerful men, politicians, business leaders, who have committed abuse and who have not been held accountable. That's what we're going to hear on Sept. 3, and people are going to be outraged, and I don't see how, after that, the House can't vote for the release of these files."
The White House's handling of the Epstein case sparked outcry earlier this summer, after the Justice Department and the FBI appeared to close the book on their investigation after announcing they had uncovered no evidence of an Epstein client list.

Since 2019, the estate has paid out over $160 million to sex victims through a compensation program, plus an additional $105 million to settle a lawsuit with the U.S. Virgin Islands. His properties were sold for a total of about $160 million.
Despite these payouts, the estate’s value has been bolstered by a key venture capital investment in Peter Thiel’s Valar Ventures. Originally a $40 million stake, its value has increased to as much as $200 million.
In 2025, filings showed the estate’s total assets at about $131 million, including about $50 million in cash. However, these filings list some investments at their 2019 value, understating the total. Recent estimates place the estate’s current value between $150 and $200 million.
Epstein’s trust was created to keep the names of beneficiaries private. While the specific individuals are not publicly known, it is believed they may include his former girlfriend Karyna Shuliak, and his two longtime associates and estate executors, Darren Indyke and Richard Kahn. Between his collection of lavish homes, two private Caribbean Islands and nearly $380 million dollars in cash and investments, he was worth $578 million dollars. He generated more than $800 million in revenue between 1999 and 2018 which was sort of the most prolific part of his you know of his activities.

sex trafficker, appears to stem from the following connections:
Robert Maxwell: Ghislaine Maxwell’s father, the late media mogul Robert Maxwell, is widely reported to have had ties to Israeli intelligence. His connection to Mossad was a factor in fueling suspicion about his daughter’s connections, and by extension, Epstein’s. Maxwell’s funeral was attended by present and former Mossad bigwigs, and a parade of high mucky muck Israeli officials. Robert Maxwell is buried on Israel’s most sacred ground-—the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. His body was found in the Atlantic Ocean in 1991, believed to have “fallen” off his yacht, after which he was given a lavish funeral by Israel.
Israeli Ehud Barak: Epstein had a close relationship with former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, who was photographed visiting Epstein’s Manhattan residence. While Barak was accused of taking money from Epstein’s foundation, he has denied any involvement in wrongdoing.
In 2020, a former Israeli intelligence officer, Ari Ben-Menashe, claimed to have seen Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell working for Mossad decades earlier. An all-out effort was made to discredit Ben-Menashe, saying has a “controversial history” and has previously made “unverifiable claims.”
What is known about Epstein’s activities. Investigations have documented that Epstein sought to compile compromising information on powerful people for his own personal gain, and perhaps was paid handsomely to collect dirt for Israel to use as political leverage, to reinforce Israel’s global footprint.
This pattern of blackmail and coercion is generally seen as being consistent with criminal activities.
