Major retail chain joins growing list of US brands to ditch Pride events, DEI schemes
UK Daily Mail ^ | 08/27/2024 | James Reinl

The home improvement retailer Lowe's has become the latest brand to scrap its support for Pride events and other diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) schemes in the face of consumer boycotts.

Lowe's will stop cooperating with the Human Rights Campaign, a major LGBTQ group, and will no longer separate employees into so-called 'resource groups' based on race, religion or sexual identities, according to an internal memo.

The company will also stop sponsoring parades, festivals, or fairs, and will instead focus on events related to its business, such as affordable housing and skilled trades education, says the memo.

In recent weeks, Jack Daniel's, Harley-Davidson, Tractor Supply, and John Deere, have all reversed course on DEI in the face of anger from conservative consumers who eschew the progressive policies.

The anti-DEI campaigner Robby Starbuck celebrated the move on X, saying Lowe's had bowed to pressure from consumers who reject 'woke' and 'ridiculous' diversity policies in US corporations.

'We are winning and one by one we will bring sanity back to corporate America,' said Starbuck, 35.

'Lowe's says there could be other future changes, and there should be. They should eliminate their DEI team in total.'

Good to hear, it’s like lite beer, I’ll switch away from DEI brands and select non DEI brands.

The ‘non-recession’ economy has hurt their bottom line, so, what can we do to attract more sales?

Let the powers of the normies lead the way.
I suggest Dick’s just because, Michael’s Crafty crap, don’t forget Target and Best Buy, just to name a few.

By calling us ‘normies’ they, in effect, admit that THEY are ‘abnormal’............

Those stores have one thing in common: they cater to rednecks like me.

If there’s a comment or feedback page on Lowe’s website, I’ll provide some positive feedback. The DIE freaks are probably doing the opposite, and hope other normals offset the drama queens.

Just like taking puberty blockers, and doing cosmetic and mutilation surgery proves that they are NOT what they think they are. Otherwise, why do those drastic measures?

I didn’t think of it that way, but you are correct, it does say something about God’s special little mental defectives.

Instead of “normals”, sic “deplorables”, I prefer the term “majority”, and major block of consumers instead.

To combat high prices of fast food, we simply stop buying...very effective. Fast food is closing all around us, and that is just fine with me. When the next business opens up, it will be subject to the same standard. No new laws required, you, as a business must align with your demographic to survive...same principle.

Ditching them...

Or calling the same thing by a new name?

Trust but verify.

Good point. These home repair and hardware stores have reported flat sales as consumers dont have enough money to do home repairs due to the economy.

Home Depot’s founder is conservative, I have read. So I shop there.

Lowe’s finally figured it out.

Good point. Does the old DEI dept. just get renamed? Some of these self-corrections are moving at such a breakneck pace that it smells a little fishy.

and it is now a part of ESG

https://corporatefinanceinstitute.com/resources/esg/esg-environmental-social-governance/

What is ESG?

ESG is a framework that helps stakeholders understand how an organization is managing risks and opportunities related to environmental, social, and governance criteria (sometimes called ESG factors). ESG takes the holistic view that sustainability extends beyond just environmental issues.

While the term ESG is often used in the context of investing, stakeholders include not just the investment community but also customers, suppliers, and employees, all of whom are increasingly interested in how sustainable an organization’s operations are.

“Human Rights Campaign, a major LGBTQ group “

It’s these cockroache NGO organizations that infiltrate and blackmail corporations into doing their bidding.

They should be fumigated out of existence.

I do not know how Lowe’s stays in business. The stores are almost as big as Home Depot, but appear to have 1/4 of the sales. If Menards ever felt like moving into Arizona, it would blow Lowes clear out of the water.
