A leading Democratic strategist has warned his party that Donald Trump's polling numbers could be misleading and they should not take them for granted.
James Carville, who rose to prominence for helping Bill Clinton to the White House in 1992, said that Trump traditionally under polls, which should worry his party.
Speaking on Bill Maher's Real Time, Carville said: 'I tell Democrats, some caution here. First of all most quants [quantitative analysts] say we have to win by three in the popular vote.

His warning to Democrats - Don't get high on your own supply and don't believe your own propaganda.
Democrats will NOT take low Trump pool numbers for granted, especially when it is just too damned easy to rig an election .
Had Biden “won” by 3.5—4%, instead of by 4.45%, I believe he would have lost the E.C.
Trump’s polls are also low because some of his supporters are afraid to admit it to strangers on a phone.
That is part of it, and it also happens that the Blue states are relatively heavy in population compared to Red states. As the pollsters say, the Democratic population and votes are inefficiently distributed when it comes to winning electoral votes.
I’m not ‘afraid’ to admit it to strangers. I don’t ‘want’ to tell a frigging pollster ANYTHING.
Effective and useful polling (in the publicly disseminated sense) as a science became one big LIE long ago. Push-polling, deflating opposition outlook and to validate actual cheating is their game today.
You wanna know the truth? Talk to your neighbor about the economy or ask somebody in the grocery store. Ask them if they voted for Que-Mala for anything. Take a look (if you can) at INTERNAL polls. Never trust drive time media or what your read or see MSM.
Back in the day that’d be true. But with voting beginning in Pennsylvania, North Carolina and other states in two weeks and many others throughout September with mail in ballots, the election begins earlier than traditionally.
trumps low pole numbers, these people are high
James, we learned to lie to poll takers 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
What are these “low poll numbers” they’re referring to? Is not essentially a dead heat?
Scroll down from this story at the Daily Mail, a reporter covering the DNC talking to her Trump voting black female Uber driver gets this response “For me it comes down to this, am I better off now than I was four years ago?”
Many won’t even talk to these pollsters on the phone—they hang up.
I have been active in a small rural county Central Committee since 2000.....only with the Trump candidacies in 2016/20, because of the relentless hate, disparagement, threatened violence and propaganda....were loyal Republicans hesitant to put signs, flags, and stickers out.
Our county runs 60% to 70% every election since Lincoln!
The polls are agi-propaganda push pieces at best, and poll the conservatives who are often suspicious of sharing their positions to strangers.
The Founders knew that human beings were more than just their bodies. They need land upon which to live and live in families and communities.
Not all people will choose to live on each other’s heads.
I have been called twice this cycle for polling and didn’t answer either call. I generally don’t answer unknown numbers. I only found out it was polling from their message and I didn’t call back.
First time I was ever polled was during 2004 Bush re-election. I answered and took the poll at the time. Since then, I get at least one call/season. Seems answering one poll in ‘04 has marked me as a likely to answer? If that is true, that does seem to introduce a bias.
You are smarter than the average low information voter, or democrat... democrats are proud to identify as anything other than conservatives. Conservatives are afraid to speak or too smart to be trapped into a data base that divides the country.
Quite an achievement against Bush The First, anti-Reagan, Mr. No New taxes.
“...because of the relentless hate, disparagement, threatened violence and propaganda....were loyal Republicans hesitant to put signs, flags, and stickers out.”
I was working at General Dynamics when Obama ran against McCain. The parking lot was full of Obama stickers. There was just one McCain sticker. I asked my buddies why they didn’t have McCain stickers. The universal answer was “Don’t want my car damaged.” When I asked the one guy with a sticker he said, “It’s a Prius.”
