A Denny’s breakfast platter has apparently become extremely expensive amid choking inflation and labor costs.
A post on Reddit shows an image of the restaurant’s menu where the price of the Lumberjack Slam sits at $17.99, the New York Post reported on Friday, noting that a decade ago, the meal cost around $5.99: Click here to see the post.
“The hefty price tag doesn’t include the premium option of upgrading the pancakes to double berry banana, cinnamon roll, or ‘choconana’ for an extra $3.09, which would bring the pre-tax, pre-tip total to $21.08,” the Post article said, noting the location of that particular restaurant was unknown.

18$? That’s not bad. Corned beef hash and eggs and grits at my local is $15… and a coffee…
One of the local Mom & Pop restaurants, the kind of place filled with pickups at lunch time, has turkey and dressing special on Thursday.
Last time I went T&D with 3 sides, coffee and a piece of lemon pie to take home to wifey was $32.00 with tip.
Last time was the last time.
Great news! Obesity is America’s #1 reason for high health services cost. This will help.
or a $3.50 cup of coffee.
We just quit going to restaurants. No way I’m paying those bull s**t prices.
I thank God that I am a man of simple tastes; Glad that I really like Ramen... although even that has about doubled in price and shrunk by 20% in the last two years.
And I used to look forward to grabbing a ‘fast food’ burger and fries when I went to town for my monthly supply run. I quit doing that a year ago, because the quality went down just as fast as the price went up.
I’m betting the ‘Lumberjack Slam” means something even more pricey in NYC.
thanks for the pic
it looks terrible for health and weight but yes, a nice full breakfast
worth about the $6 tag before the Biden inflation jacked it up to $18
Denny’s has also hidden its popular “grand slam” breakfast (basically a scaled down version of your picture...you get eggs, pancakes, and sausages...) while tripling its price, too
the great “working class’ or “middle class” is now priced out of Denny and priced out of McD’s
health may well improve (especially regarding McD) but joy is out the window
But... but... but... like Trump like says like meanie things and stuff!
Breakfast tomorrow!
Sounds like a fair deal. My favorite locally is a small family-owned chain where you can get 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, hashbrowns, and a 4 ounce chicken-fried steak for $14.50.
A mid-morning brunch that will get you through until supper.
Denny’s is still around? Whoda thunk it?
I’m a lunberjack and I’m OK,
I cost three times more than yesterday...
Let’s elect Kamala and shoot for 36.
It sounds sort of San Francisco like.
Cooked by somebody better than Dennys that looks like a solid $18 of food. Cooked by Dennys of course it’s crap and why did you even walk in. But there’s places I would have paid $18 for that pre-2020, and enjoyed every bite and skilled the next meal. Eventually Dennys would catch up on the price, if not the quality.
Eat at Denny’s and get slammed.
