Kamala Harris has suffered a blow in a poll that looked at how alternative Democratic candidates would do in swing states.
There have been calls for U.S. President Joe Biden to be replaced as the Democratic candidate since the world watched his poor performance in his debate with Donald Trump on June 27. Many have assumed the vice president would be the obvious choice, but a new poll shows she doesn't fare as well as others, and she wasn't among the four who performed best.
Analytics company BlueLabs carried out research to determine who would increase the number of people voting for the Democrats in seven battleground states – Nevada, Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Georgia. It interviewed more than 15,000 voters across the states from July 5-12.
The results, published in a draft by Politico on Tuesday, showed all of the alternative candidates ahead of Biden, including Harris. The four who performed best, outpacing Biden by roughly 5 points, were U.S. Senator Mark Kelly from Arizona, Maryland Governor Wes Moore, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
Those who participated in the poll were randomly assigned 11 options for president, including Biden, and given arguments in support of those potential candidates – to "mimic their likely campaign argument."
Newsweek has contacted BlueLabs to ask for the study's margin of error. It also contacted Harris via email for comment.
On average, alternative Democratic candidates were ahead of Biden by 3 points – although Harris' results were lower than that.
"Voters are looking for a fresh face," the study said in its findings. "Those more closely tied to the current administration perform relatively worse than other tested candidates."

Kamala is a catcher, I don’t believe she is equipped to be a pitcher as say Big Mike.
How does Kamala answer the question why she didn’t invoke the 25th Amendment in the face of an obviously incapacitated President?
Voters want governors who can successfully lead their state police in assassination attempts—so Shapiro is done.

Biden and Kamala are both brain-challenged.
Kamala, however, still has a functioning brain, even if it’s one with an IQ below 50. She’s the ideal candidate for the democrats.
BTW, Biden is GONE! Will not be the candidate after this week-end. It’s Kamala or Moochele or Schiff. ;) But, no matter who, it’s Obama pulling the strings. Buttergig is hopint that somebody will notice him.

Kam should be the natural choice, and if Biden succumbs, the legal one.
But I’m telling ya, and I don’t know why I detect this, if she had any traction as far as popularity, she should be rocketing in the polls. And she isn’t.
Every woman has worked under another woman such as Kamala and they recognize her cold, officious, power-seeking manner and viscerally dislike it.
If you are going to tell me that suburban women were the single largest voting bloc that elected Biden, their absence is beyond telling. They do not like this woman.

Setting the stage for Big Mike. I don’t think Biden will step down until the convention. The Deep State is not going to allow that, however, they are setting it all up ahead of time, according to script. They can’t win with Biden. They can’t really win with Heels Up. Neither of these two would be believable when they pull off the steal. No, it has to be someone else. Gruesome Newsome is a possibility, but to replace Heels Up with a white male? Lol. The POC feminazi wing of the party would flip their stuff and revolt. Whoever replaces Biden has to be a POC woman who will burst on the scene despite saying she would never do it. Sound familiar?
I just don’t see how it can be anyone other than Harris. Sure, maybe poll a VP pick, even for Democrats, how in the world do they explain to the public that they are taking the equivalent of a Mulligan on their presidential nominee but inserting someone completely new and by smoky backroom fiat?
So you’re telling me that all the primary elections thus far are just scrubbed, in the name of democracy, with a completely new person? Just shoved right in there? No vote. No campaign. Just arbitrarily decide — 109 days before the election that — oops, we think this person will do better for our team, here you go.
Stunningly absurd, but then again, we’re talking about Democrats here.
