When he brought his own security he had not yet secured the nomination.
So even as Trump was asking for more security, the security for this particular event was drastically cut.
Does that sound right?
And as I’ve said, the security that WAS there failed to do even the most basic parts of the job. I don’t see any way that wasn’t deliberate. But if the numbers of security personnel there were also reduced it makes it stink all the worse.

If this were just an event on its own you could chalk it up to incompetent security or the likes. But it isn't. You have to see it in the context of everything the Left have done to destroy Trump and failed. Especially the recent SC ruling practically clearing Trump, Biden's disastrous performance at the debate, and following which Trump jumping to the lead nationwide. Assasination was always going to be the last resort of the Deep State. I have said multiple times on FR that an assassination would always be made to look like the work of an individual.

It was supposed to stop Trump permanently. I sure would like to be a fly on the wall at those “we messed up” meetings.
It was before Biden’s disastrous debate, and before the SCOTUS decisions let us know that the lawfare against Trump wasn’t going to work?
This just really, really seems like after the debate the Deep State decided they were gonna assassinate Trump, and that’s why Biden wouldn’t call it quits. They had exhausted their illegal but non-violent means to get rid of Trump so they went on to their “final solution”.
And the quality of the “security” reflects that, culminating in the SS just flat-out not doing their job at all.

Finally drones are mentioned, surely the SS flies a couple of high quality drones for overseeing an area and roof tops, out lying areas and approaches, or not.
CNN is reporting (so take that as you wish) that LEOs questioned the shooter earlier because he was acting “strangely” but then just let him go his way. Apparently, no one was charged with keeping an eye on him.

The individual is not saying the same security as a sitting president; he is saying it was not the same security as other Trump rally’s he has been to.

This is one of the first questions that needs to be asked by Congressional hearing.
I’ve heard that the normal perimeter is 1000 yards from the podium. But DHS Director Mayorkas is the one who sets the criteria for the protective detail.
These people need to go to Gitmo. Do not pass GO. Do not pass the Dept of Injustice. Do not collect $200. Just go straight to a military tribunal.
