Yes there is a difference.
A candidate is not afforded the same level of SS as a sitting POTUS......
why no helicopter in the area in the general vicinity?
How did the ladder get there that helped the assassin get on the roof of that building without any security noticing?
My friends in Michigan went to the Trump rally there. They told me the same thing. There were SS all over the place at the MI rally.
Allegedly they had at least one or more drones in the air.
Hard to tell the difference between deliberate malfeasance and incompetence with this corrupt regime.

There is either security which is adequate, or there isn’t. This was “pretend” security. Trump can afford real security and should provide his own. This “pretend security” was a national disgrace.
This was clearly aa well-orchestrated assassination event...
The fix was in before the sun even rose yesterday and reminds me of the way LBJ orchestrated the Kennedy assassination...
One has to ask ones self: “How soon will this failure by the administration be corrected?”

This “pretend security”, just like democrat led lawfare, are both national disgraces. Trump should provide his own security, just like he provides his own legal defense. When I first saw him in 2015 he had his own security with him.
I would say that if they didn’t have the best site for an assassin covered then they were worse than having no security at all.
I don’t think this was just that there was less security. I think this was that the security they had DID NOT DO THEIR FREAKING JOB!

I’ve been to Trump rallies and snipers are everywhere, including in the hills surrounding.
Security is actually visible for miles before you even get to a rally venue.
I felt safe, as well, unconcerned for The President’s safety
Moreover, there was a helicopter circling the event
So… a guy just decides to show up at a rally and take a potshot at PDJT… and he looks around for a spot that wasn’t covered by USSS and… well whadaya know! He’s in luck. A handy barn roof with no-one on it. And his rifle happens to be sighted in for the distance to the stage.
Now, let’s just see if he can get up there with a rifle without being spotted. Well whaddaya know! Another lucky break! Wait… he was spotted and pointed out to security, Well whaddaya know! Three times lucky! Security blew it off.
Oops. His luck ran out. He was shot deader’n a doornail. Tsk, tsk. Too bad. Can’t question him now.
