Yes there is a difference.
A candidate is not afforded the same level of SS as a sitting POTUS......

There is either security which is adequate, or there isn’t. This was “pretend” security. Trump can afford real security and should provide his own. This “pretend security” was a national disgrace.
I would say that if they didn’t have the best site for an assassin covered then they were worse than having no security at all.
I don’t think this was just that there was less security. I think this was that the security they had DID NOT DO THEIR FREAKING JOB!
The individual is not saying the same security as a sitting president; he is saying it was not the same security as other Trump rally’s he has been to.
Trump is not a typical candidate.
A reasonable person would assume the level of protection should overmatch the level of the threat to some degree.
If the objective is to actually protect a person. That is the objective, right?
Exactly...media hype.
Bullshit
....."During 25 years with the FBI, I have seen how countless similar rallies were organised and I consider it highly likely that the Secret Service was responsible for security within an 'enclosed perimeter', while the 'local police' took charge of the wider zone outside.".......What we don't yet know is 'whose job' it was to ensure this roof, only 150 yards from the stage, was secure."
Responsibility for every post, every zone, every rooftop needs to be clearly assigned and this division of roles should have been clear to everyone.....This is standard practice for the Secret Service but it's also potentially new territory for each local police department.
I have attended rallies for Presidential Candidates before. The SS presence was very heavy and every manhole and every rooftop were manned with agents.

But in this case the candidate is a former POTUS. The security should not be a whole lot different.
Trump is not just a candidate; he is also a former POTUS.
Lol, well that explains it.
