CNN Guest: Prosecution ‘Fell Way Short’ of Proving Case Against Trump
Breitbart ^ | 05/28/2024 | PAM KEY

Defense attorney Randy Zelin said Tuesday on CNN’s “News Central” that the prosecution in former President Donald Trump’s business record trial “fell way short” of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

Host Kate Bolduan said, “The burden of proof is an important one to remind everyone: It’s on the prosecution, right? They need to prove beyond reasonable doubt that he commit, that Donald Trump broke the law. And you think after listening to all of this, you think they fell short. How?”

Zelin said, “They fell way short, because let’s start with reasonable doubt. What is reasonable doubt? And it’s not simply a doubt based upon reason. Any time a human being needs to make an important decision in life, if you have enough information, for example, doctor says you need open heart surgery. ‘Doc, go ahead and schedule. I don’t have a reasonable doubt.’ Conversely, if I say ‘I appreciate it, but I need a second opinion, I need more information.’ that is having a reasonable doubt. There is reasonable doubt all over this case.

If they come back with a guilty verdict, I would advise all conservatives to flee New York and take their businesses with them.

Every charge is separate. They could theoretically convict on just one and acquit or hang on 33. But here it’s the same charge 34 times - one for each allegedly false entry - so it is highly unlikely that they’ll believe there’s enough evidence for some charges but not others. But yes if hypothetically that did happen he would be convicted of a felony (just not 34 felonies).

Thank you

There is no way that the jurors will understand this !!

No way. I really hope there is at least one juror who will be strong and not crumble

If anyone can explain much appreciate it

Explanation: He Trump. He has orange hair, he’s a Republican, therefore he
is guilty. It just a matter of how long a sentence he will get, and where he will be doing hard time. Forget appeals - that will take months while DJT rots in some prison. And therefore, will NOT be able to campaign. Which is the point of the whole thing.

Trying to understand more than that, you will need to buy a very large amount of headache medicine.

At least 1/34 on records keeping (state charges)
= Misdemeanor

If all jurors agree that he committed at least one the three underlying election law criminal charges (federal crimes), they do not have to agree on the same charge they just have to believe any one of three.
= Elevates the book keeping charges to Felonies.

The prosecutor cannot try him on federal crimes so he is trying to tie the very minor bookkeeping charges to the election law charges in hopes of turning them into felonies.

Yep! Jonathan Turley is giving a point by point of what the prosecutors are presenting to the jury and they’re not even finished yet they’re gonna wear down and confuse them! Those POS got a scheme and I’m now 100% they WILL convict Trump …he ain’t got a prayer! Brace yourselves for a constant glee from the mediavomits and everyone else. He won’t be able to campaign. They’re gonna strap him down good! And I bet you they’ve already cleaned out the cell and got it ready for him …he will be behind bars after the verdict. THE JIG IS up! My God, my God what America has become! Lord God, we need your help right now this very moment Lord, please. 🙏🏻

The judge...

But don’t feel you can’t vote to convict, even if you don’t
believe he was guilty...

More of a grudge than a judge...

FWIW Tim Pool (the guy who runs a YouTube/Rumble podcast) said they jurors likely will convict because they don’t want their house firebombed.

I tend to agree. Maybe not a firebombing, but fired from their job, their kid not getting into any universities, their car vandalized, brought up on charges of committing some (fill in the blank) crime, just any number of possibilities.

In a Perry Mason like fashion the defendant was actually shown innocent beyond a reasonable doubt. The star witness on the other hand...

Idk but I’ve heard the jury doesn’t even have to unanimously agree on one single charge they can still find DJT guilty !!??

Watching Rachael Maddie salivating over the prosecutions closing arguments. What does “they can convict on less than every bit of piece of evidence”?

The check is nothing...Stormy was blackmailing him...he paid her lousy blackmail...and it wasn't out of campaign funds...

There is no crime.

If I were a juror....

The whole thing makes no sense. Stormy blackmails Trump. He pays her off. There is no crime.

34 invoices/checks logged and submitted on tax forms do not a crime make.....just the opposite.

Technically, that wasn't a conviction. It was civily liable.

I think the inevitable guilty verdict will cement the end of America.

If they can do this to Trump, what chance do we have.

I think it was 34 payments. Thus a charge for each payment
