DON'T GIVE UP
Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. — Galatians 6:9 KJV
Do you ever feel like giving up? Perhaps you’re discouraged about your finances or you’re facing problems with your health, your marriage, or your children. Sometimes problems seem so overwhelming that the road ahead seems too steep to climb. We all go through these times. I’ve wanted to give up and quit many times through the years. But when I realized I had nothing interesting to go back to, I determined to keep pressing on. Even though continuing to move forward is sometimes painful, it is far better than giving up and sliding backwards. God is doing a good work in you so He can do more for you and through you. So ask Him to fill you with holy determination tonight and keep moving in the right direction. From the book Ending Your Day Right: Devotions for Each Evening of the Year by Joyce Meyer. Man! Your hubby was one lucky guy to have been zapped by that lightning strike and be able to tell the tale. Did he have to go to the hospital? I imagine he feared that the same thing would happen to you.
Guess I’ll finish up this show and head out. The melatonin is kicking in. zzzz....

Silly birds is right...they don’t just retreat to the bank, they fly away. They know their way here, and you would think they would know they get free food.

Gizmo looks mighty pleased with the outing at Comanche Lake, despite the crowds.
Are you getting any lightning tonight or just rain?

He was zapped three times. Twice here at the farm and once at a big party at the foot of one of the mountains close by. Two people were killed at that party. Hubby was tossed several feet and knocked out. He was extremely lucky that time. His sleep pattern was messed up the rest of his life, and he magnetized metal, such as his keys that he kept in his pocket. He couldn’t wear a watch because he killed the batteries.
Yes, he did fear I get zapped. He said one day I wouldn’t come back inside and he find me a smoldering heap of ash somewhere in the yard. LOL
I’ve been “tingled” twice through my feet when lightning hit a tree close enough by to electrify the ground. It was a weird feeling.
Sleep well. Catch ya tomorrow.

Dang! They fly off? Knowing there’ll be free food whenever you go out? They’ve been around long enough to know better, you’d think.

Heard from laurenmarlowe who is/was working an event...I think fairly near her.
Last night they had 30 minutes notice to shut down. Just as she got to her car, “...to get in to leave, when a huge bolt of lightning struck”.
And they were evacuated again tonight because of lightning.

I hope laurenmarlowe got evacuated and home safely.
The weather has been pretty wild in these parts recently. It’s crashing, booming and pouring outside again right now.
I think the drought might be over.

It’s been ugly in her area the past several days/nights. Lots of strong storms. It isn’t too bad now but there’s a lot of rain with some storms and it isn’t moving off fast at all. A large portion of TX is under some sort of flood advisory/flood watch/flash flood warning. It’s a mess down there and there’s more to come the next several days. :-(

Good evening, E...((HUGS))...and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Even with a lot of people out at Comanche Lake, Gizmo looks like he had a good time.

I hope she did too. I assume she’s ok since she got in touch with Kathy.
I’d say this Spring is the drought-buster y’all have been waiting for. Now if you could just figure out how to share a little of it with luvie, I’m sure she’d appreciate it. LOL

Good evening/morning, Allegra, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Her text at 6p my time, so 9p in Texas I think...”And they just evacuated us again so I am out of here. More lightning as we speak!!!”
Family in Splendora and New Caney all have flooded yards, but homes were still dry as of yesterday. Haven’t talked to them today.
Hope you are high and dry...be safe! Hurrah if your drought is over!

It IS scary. None were direct hits but through the ground. The two at the farm, he was running for cover and lightning struck the water line to the house. His foot was on the ground just above the pipe as the zap ran through it.
At the party, a bolt struck a huge tree. The couple who were killed were sitting in a chair right underneath it. Hubby and some others were carrying tables and chairs to a barn and their feet were over the roots when the strike hit.
Hubby wouldn’t talk about it much. I learned what happened from one of his buddies who was also there that day.
