Amid the West's continued support of Ukraine, the threat of nuclear escalation with Russia has been ever-present as the Kremlin tries to deter further NATO involvement.

While there is no indication of an impending nuclear clash between Russia and NATO, the results would be catastrophic, according to the "Plan A" simulation published by Princeton's Science and Global Security program, which estimates there would be 91.5 million casualties within hours of a nuclear conflict and many more in the following months and years.

A Russian nuclear attack on the U.S. would aim to cut essential command and control communications channels, destroy key industrial and commercial zones, cripple nuclear assets, and incapacitate American military and political leadership.

...and incapacitate American military and political leadership.

++++++++++

Don’t need Russia’s help to accomplish this objective.

Not to worry, there’s plenty to go around. Pretty much everybody here, and there, will get flash-banged real good.

I’m waiting for the Biden team to make the argument that NATO needs boots on the ground (mostly US) in Ukraine, to push back the Russians so that the Russians don’t start a nuclear war.

If avoiding nuclear war is really the main goal, then perhaps saying “Screw the Ukrainians, their border is not our problem” might be a more effective method for not getting nuked.

Has there ever been a time when Russian didn’t have US targets in place?

Yet, Biden is solely responsible for increasing nuclear hostilities.

I hope the Russians do not know how much we treasure DC and McClean Virginia! Lets keep it a secret how much it would hurt our morale.

Don’t let them know normal America would show up a few weeks later and power wash the marble monuments and plant new cherry trees and ship in some actual patriots!

France has either already, or will soon, put troops in Ukraine. This is an unprovoked NATO escalation and one that Russia warned about

They put a tracking device on Hillary Clinton.

She’ll really get to hit the reset button.

“Given their combined political, military, and industrial value, Washington, D.C., New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas-Fort Worth, Philadelphia, Houston, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Denver, and Miami would likely be among the top targets for a Russian nuclear strike, according to the report.”

When the Soviet Union fell the US got a target list for Russian nukes. They almost exclusively targeted population centers. The US exclusively targeted military targets. They intended to wipe out the civilian society, which would crash the military even if it took a few years. People age out. Also, how do you feed a military if there are no farmers? It’s almost certain that the present Russian government thinks the same way. Afterall, it’s essentially the same people in charge.

“They left San Diego off of their primary target list???”

Maybe they though the women officers of Navy surface warfare should be left to continue the bickering, drag shows and collisions?

on the border with Belarus to free up Ukrainians protecting that border as I understand things.

They left San Diego off of their primary target list??

~~~
No, the gist of the city list was those larger urban complexes with larger scale industrial and technical complexes, aside from the strategic command/control targets, and of course Military bases of all kinds would obviously be targets, so the naval and AF bases in the SD area would get hit and I have little doubt that if they lobbed the full scale attack metro SD would ago get one simply because it’s a significant enough population, but it doesn’t count as a major industrial complex. It’s vague and generalized. It’s not an actual target list. Pretty much common sense WWIII stuff.
Wait a sec - do they mean to say military planners actually have thought in advance and have pre-planned targets for their nuke missiles?
Imagine that!!
We just put troops on Kinmen Island, Taiwan, which is less than 5 miles from the Chinese mainland.
