… Five important natural thresholds already risk being crossed, according to the Global Tipping Points report (https://global-tipping-points.org/), and three more may be reached in the 2030s if the world heats 1.5C (2.7F) above pre-industrial temperatures.
… The tipping points at risk include the collapse of big ice sheets in Greenland and the West Antarctic, the widespread thawing of permafrost, the death of coral reefs in warm waters, and the collapse of one oceanic current in the North Atlantic.
Unlike other changes to the climate such as hotter heatwaves and heavier rainfall, these systems do not slowly shift in line with greenhouse gas emissions but can instead flip from one state to an entirely different one. When a climatic system tips – sometimes with a sudden shock – it may permanently alter the way the planet works.
Scientists warn that there are large uncertainties around when such systems will shift but the report found that three more may soon join the list. These include mangroves and seagrass meadows, which are expected to die off in some regions if the temperatures rise between 1.5C and 2C, and boreal forests, which may tip as early as 1.4C of heating or as late as 5C.

In its latest review of climate change science, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change found that tipping thresholds were unclear but the dangers would grow more likely as the planet heats up.

Climate Fear Porn has been a racket ever since I was a kid.
First it was a new ice age in the 70s.
Then heat would kill us.
Then water would cover all coastal cities.
People have made a lot ofmoney off this racket.
Solutions somehow empower and enrich the elites (the jet setters) and somehow want us to be servants in compressed living conditions eating soy and owning nothing.

Time to sacrifice Greta Thungberg to a volcano so the gods can spare us a tenperatire rise!

I lived though the pending ‘ice age’, too.
I’m pretty sure I’ll live through the ‘global warming’ as well.
(They’re running out of ‘climates’ to keep changing. Next it will be the coming exraterrestrial invasion.)
There are a certain group of people who thrill to the idea of “tipping points.” Tipping points won’t happen of course, but those with boring dreary lives are hoping for the life changing excitement that the tippers promise. Sort of like loving those cliffhanger endings on tv serial episodes, make you can’t wait for the next one.
But how can anyone believe you if none of your previous predictions came true, and on top of that you’re trying to kill five billion of us?
