‘Americans Had Better Wake Up’: Biden Admin Fires Next Regulatory Salvo In Its Push For EVs
Daily Caller ^ | 7/28/23 | Nick Pope

The Biden administration proposed a new and ambitious set of fuel economy standards for cars and light-duty trucks Friday, its latest move to prod American consumers towards adopting electric vehicles (EVs).

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), a subagency of the Department of Transportation (DOT), unveiled the updated Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards, which would require cars and lighter trucks to improve their respective fuel efficiencies by 2% and 4% starting in 2027, according to a DOT press release announcing the proposal.

The rule would also mandate work vans and pickup trucks to increase their fuel efficiencies by 10% each year, starting in 2030, according to the DOT press release. If manufacturers fail to meet the stipulations of the proposed CAFE standards, they will have to pay punitive fines to the government, according to the rule’s text.

General Motors voiced its concerns to the Biden administration about prospective new fuel economy standards, telling administration officials in mid-July that such standards could cost American automobile manufacturers as much as $100 billion in 2031 and $300 billion over a five-year timeline, according to Reuters. The administration reportedly dismissed General Motors’s concerns, telling the company that their analysis was incorrect.

“This is an EV mandate and further evidence that the elites want normal people to hoof it or take the bus,” Dan Kish, senior fellow at the Institute for Energy Research, told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “Americans had better wake up, because cars will soon be so expensive that people won’t be able to afford them.”

The NHTSA believes that the proposal will save Americans money at the gas pump while boosting American auto manufacturing and reducing reliance on foreign oil, the press release says.

However, the agency has conceded that the rule would saddle the auto manufacturing industry...

I've been to China several times...including recently. The air I encountered was,on its very best day,10 times worse than anything I've ever experienced in NYC...Tokyo...the LA Basin...or the Ruhr Valley.

Biden can’t propose a change of diapers so who really did bring this up? The next POTUS needs to clean house on the walk to the Oval Office... if there’s a next.

“Americans had better wake up, because cars will soon be so expensive that people won’t be able to afford them.”

The COVID plandemic to remove Trump showed that the Feds can simply order all gas stations closed due to a “global warming emergency” and people would have no (legal) recourse.

Didn’t the Supremes just provide two rulings that essentially killed administrative law like these?

So it doesn’t matter what Pedo Joe says, because if you are fined for violating any of this, the courts will declare those fines illegal and unconstitutional.

The Sacketts can finally finish grading their lot near (but not on waterways to) Priest Lake.

"‘Americans Had Better Wake Up’: Biden Admin Fires Next Regulatory Salvo In Its Push For EVs"

FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument

What Americans need to wake up to is the constitutional reality that corrupt, post-17th Amendment ratification Congress is once again using compromised Biden as a front end to do their unconstitutional dirty work, just like they let 2nd term Obama get away with unconstitutional executive orders imo.

Exclusive: Marjorie Taylor Greene ‘Dumbfounded’ GOP Colleagues Will Not Call for Biden’s Impeachment! (6.10.23)

In this case, with the exception of militia-related firearms, the states have never expressly constitutionally given Congress the specific constitutional power to “force” consumers to buy a product.

”State inspection laws, health laws, and laws for regulating the internal commerce of a State, and those which respect turnpike roads, ferries, &c. are not within the power granted to Congress [emphases added]” —Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

In other words, Congress is once again wrongly turning its head as Biden now steals state powers to force consumers to buy "not ready for the market" imo EVs.

"From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]." —United States v. Butler, 1936.

“Biden's” EV policy is another incentive for patriots to primary ALL incumbents in state and federal governments running again in 2024, except for MTG, Gaetz, others.

ASAP, Democratic and Republican Trump-supporting patriots who are up to speed with federal government's constitutionally limited powers need to make lists of possible replacement patriot candidates who likewise respect federal government's constitutionally limited powers and let Trump endorse candidates from those lists.

No wonder China is already worlds biggest economy (based on buying power, 1 US $ buys more everything in China than US)
Just saw an article few days ago saying India will be world’s biggest economy in 2075.

Color me cynical, but I’m guessing these regulators are a bunch of geeks who are tired of hard working guys in pickups stealing their girls, so they’re taking revenge. Just my warped opinion.

Reading Revelation 25 years ago, it did not seem possible to be without technology n transportation.
85% of Americans hid under their sinks then lined up for trumps vaccine to save them.
When Americans can’t get toilet paper… you know it’s over. We know they will put us right back into a hole again, and we will kneel.

The Congress has got in the habit of passing "open-ended" legislation, which is short on detail and leaves the "fine tuning" to the unelected bureaucrats who run the agency. That gives the legislator plausible deniability when the public starts complaining of the legislation's impact and makes the people with the power to make the final decision -- the bureaucrats themselves -- untouchable.

This process was upheld by a 1984 SCOTUS ruling in Chevron v. Natural Resources Defense Council, Inc., so it's known as "The Chevron Doctrine." Amazingly, five of the six justices who voted with the majority were Republican appointees.

Anyway, this past May SCOTUS agreed to hear a case on the constitutionality of the Chevron Doctrine. If we get really lucky, they just might reign in all those rogue agencies (like the IRS and the EPA) that perpetually use the doctrine to increase their own power and diminish the liberty of rank-and-file Americans.

We haven’t seen anything yet.

Once they steal 2024 the gloves will be off. Biden, Newsom or whomever, it won’t matter. They’ll turn the US into CA to complete Bammy’s fundamental transformation.

But, we’ll just keep voting and pretend it matters.

These socially disruptive policies must be enacted upon by legislators not nameless bureaucrats. Why doesn't someone challenge these regulations in SCOTUS rather than watch the country fall behind in prosperity and security?

Unconscionable!
